- Ron Truppa was born in Providence, Rhode Island. His family moved when he was 5 years old to Nevada, Missouri and then to Clifton Park, New York before moving back to Lincoln, Rhode Island for high school and college. He was a student leader and entrepreneur all throughout his scholastic career.
As An Actor: Ron performed on stage at the Providence's Veteran's Memorial Auditorium, the Pepsi Forum, Boston Playwright's Theatre, Trinity Repertory's Tony Award-winning main stage, and various other venues around the New England area. He started appearing in local and national commercials, independent films, and the his city's namesake NBC TV show "Providence". After moving to Los Angeles he studied acting under John Kirby while booking studio and independent films, commercials, TV shows, soap operas, and local stage productions. Ron has played many versatile roles in film, TV and stage productions, from the knight in shining armor to the common street thug. Some notable stage performances are Kenickie Murdoch in Grease, Hamlet, Jesus in Godspell, Frank Churchill in Emma, Caleb Thorpe in The Spitfire Grill, and many more within original productions.
As A Producer: Shortly after moving to Los Angeles Ron started his production company, "TRUPPA Entertainment", creating, producing, writing, directing, and appearing in, award-winning documentaries, TV Shows, Films, Shorts, Commercials, and Music Videos. His company also began producing film premieres and events around the Los Angeles area.
As A Founder and Philanthropist: In 2010, he founded the non-profit Catalina Film Institute, highlighting California's only magical resort island right here in Los Angeles County. The organization's mission focuses on IMAGINATION, EDUCATION and DESTINATION to help foster the growth of future filmmakers, industry influence-rs, and support the economic growth of the historic island itself. Ron is proud it has grown to host one of the world's premiere annual film festivals while expanding its educational reach with the Catalina Film & New Media Summit. - Ron originated the role of Frank Churchill in the world premiere musical of Jane Austen's "Emma".
- Ron is the youngest of his two older sisters Lisa and Larissa.
- Ron had a restaurant called "Ron T's" and a night club across the street called "Buster's Sports Bar & Club" while still a full-time student in college. The college would not supply shuttles to the night club, so Ron hired school buses to make 3 stops around the Providence College campus. Pickup was in front of his restaurant across the street to help with those late-night cravings. Neighboring schools like Brown University, Bryant University, and Assumption College (Worcester, MA), would all charter their own shuttles, making Buster's on of the busiest nightclubs in the state sold to its capacity 4 nights out of the week.
- Ron's family had their house burnt down when he was 6 years old in Clifton Park, NY by a grand arsonist team. The crime ring would paint new homes before people moved into them and come back to steal and burn down the homes later up and down the eastern seaboard. They caught them burning down robbing and burning down a home in North Carolina.
- Ron ran for class president against his best friend during Sophomore and Junior year in high school, Ron got defeated both times. He didn't quit and went on to become Student Council President for his high school and State Student Council President for all high schools in the state of Rhode Island.
