Riti Ramanujachari is an Indian Australian writer and director. Armed with her Grandpa's camera, she began performing and filming small videos with her family. Riti soon realized she had a passion for filmmaking and telling stories.
Riti has been making films since the age of 7 and at 16 years old, Riti won 1st place in the Blue Datto Short Film Competition for her short film 'Why Didn't You Say Something?', as well as the Voters Choice Award. In 2020, she was also a finalist in the Focus on Ability Short Film Festival with her short documentary 'Possibility not Disability.' Additionally, her short film 'Unreachable' was selected for the 2021 Lift-Off Online Film Festival. Riti's latest film 'A Girl Meets A Boy' was selected for the Pune Short Film Festival as well as the 2023 Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival. At the end of 2021, Riti created and wrote the pilot episode of 'The Detention Diaries' which received an Official Selection at Sydney Web Fest 2023. The series is currently in development. In Nov 2023, she recently completed her film 'O-Week', co-directed with Eliza Jones.
Riti has completed short courses at the Australian Theatre for Young People and currently, Riti is studying a Bachelor of Screen: Production at the Australian, Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS). Riti is a passionate individual who strives to tell diverse and unique stories through the powerful avenue of filmmaking.
