Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly… Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!
Match #1: Seth “Freakin” Rollins & Sami Zayn vs. “Dirty” Dom & Jd McDonagh (No-Contest) The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In the final moments of tag team action, surprise interference from The Judgment Day brought a sudden halt to the match. The bedlam intensified in the aftermath when Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso rushed to the ring to even the odds of The Judgment Day and McDonagh’s post-match attack on Rollins and Zayn. The post-match brawl resulted in an irate Raw General Manager Adam Pearce banning all involved noncompeting WarGames participants from the arena prior to the main event WWE Undisputed Tag Team Title Match.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Shinsuke Nakamura def. Otis The following is courtesy of wwe.

Match #1: The Judgment Day def. The New Day The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In a first-ever matchup, The Judgment Day reigned supreme on the day, besting The New Day in a high-stakes tag team match. Despite putting up a great fight, The New Day fell to The Judgment Day after they used underhanded tactics followed by a South of Heaven/Coup de Grace combo on Xavier Woods to pick up the win.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Shinsuke Nakamura def. Akira Tozawa The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Akira Tozawa gave his best effort against Shinsuke Nakamura but fell short. Tozawa looked great until he missed a Senton Bomb. Nakamura took advantage, finishing off the Alpha Academy hopeful with the Kinshasa.

Match #1: Ludwig Kaiser def. Matt Riddle The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With Gunther preparing to battle Drew McIntyre in an Intercontinental Championship Match at SummerSlam, his disappointment in Ludwig Kaiser’s recent failures proved to be a great motivator for his Imperium cohort to overcome Matt Riddle in a hard-fought matchup with a devastating Ddt.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5 Match #2: Maxxine Dupri def. Valhalla The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Two week’s after Valhalla smashed Maxxine Dupri through a table, The Alpha Academy neutralized the interfering Viking Raiders outside the ring and paved the way for the recent graduate of Alpha Academy to overcome her ominous adversary with a technically superior finishing maneuver in her first one-on-one matchup.

Match #1: Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship – Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn def. Pretty Deadly The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In front of a sold out O2 Arena in London, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn took on Pretty Deadly in Pretty Deadly’s neck of the woods. Ko was a house on fire, plowing through Elton Prince and Kit Wilson at ringside with clotheslines before bringing Prince into the ring to hit a huge cannonball. However, the move cost Owens, as he appeared to hold his left ankle. Pretty Deadly immediately attacked the injured ankle, nearly becoming new champs after an assisted codebreaker. Zayn...

One week before The American Nightmare squares off with Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, Cody Rhodes had his first match on SmackDown in over seven years. Rhodes took it to Ludwig Kaiser before Paul Heyman came down to the ramp to take a closer look. A missed Cody Cutter from Rhodes set the stage for Kaiser to wear down The American Nightmare. A Disaster Kick got Rhodes back into the proceedings just as Solo Sikoa made his way down to the ring. Match #1: Dominik Mysterio & Rhea Ripley def. Santos Escobar & Zelina Vega The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
When order broke down in the Mixed Tag Team Match and Santos Escobar was taken out of action, Zelina Vega knocked Dominik Mysterio out of the squared circle. Unfortunately, she made the mistake of turning her back on Rhea Ripley, who hit her opponent with Riptide for the victory. After the bell, Dominik began to once more trash talk his dad. In response, Rey Mysterio interrupted Dominik with some emotional words as he made it clear he will never fight his son at WrestleMania or anywhere else.

After Hit Row complained to WWE Official Adam Pearce regarding how they exited the SmackDown Tag Team Title Contenders’ Tournament, Pearce sanctioned a match between Hit Row and Drew McIntyre & Sheamus. Ashante Adonis jaw-jacked to start but got immediately leveled with the Glasgow Kiss. The beats wouldn’t stop there though, as Sheamus hit more than 20 Beats of the Bodhran on Top Dolla, followed by a White Noise on Adonis. A Claymore from McIntyre to Top Dolla, plus a Brogue Kick from Sheamus to Adonis, sealed the one sided victory for the Warriors’ two.

Match #1: Damian Priest def. Angelo Dawkins The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Before the match, WWE Official Adam Pearce ordered everyone surrounding the ring to go to the backstage area, allowing this match to be contested one-on-one. In the early goings, Angelo Dawkins threw Damian Priest over the announce table, proving he meant business in this Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match. Priest bounced back fairly quickly, hitting a Broken Arrow followed by a Bell Clap. Dawkins gave it his all, hitting a superb Swanton Bomb but could only achieve a two-count. Priest grabbed the victory with a South of Heaven to make the Elimination Chamber even more judgmental than it already was.

Match #1: Raw Women’s Championship – Bianca Belair def. Carmella The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The margin of error could not have been tighter for this encounter as Carmella could win the Raw Women’s Championship via pinfall, submission or count out. A perennial thorn in the side of The Est of WWE, Becky Lynch made her presence felt before the match laying out the champion with a Manhandle Slam. Lynch scouted her competition from the announce table, as it was announced that the winner would face her at SummerSlam for the Raw Women’s Championship.

The Judgment Day came calling in San Diego, but The Mysterios had the hometown crowd behind them to ignite their fire. Dominik was looking to impress in his first match in San Diego, but Damian Priest sent a brutal message with a toss of the younger Mysterio onto the outside barricades. With the official distracted, Rey Mysterio paid homage to the legendary Eddie Guerrero by tricking the referee into thinking he’d been struck with a steel chair by Finn Bálor.

It feels like decades since our last (brilliant) PPV WWE TLC 2020. Since then the horror show known as 2020 came to a welcome end, we have had Christmas, New Year and more lockdowns! Oh joy! But thank goodness it is time for the road to (another two-night) WrestleMania to commence and it begins with one of the most anticipated shows of the WWE year in the Royal Rumble. Now, if you’ve been keeping up with WWE, people have been saying (after some ratings success and good matches) that Smackdown is WWE’s A-Show but frankly I’m not always in 100% agreement. For me the shows flip every so few weeks. For instance, I had grown a tad irritated by the one-sidedness of the Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens Universal Championship rivalry (which seemed set to culminate in a title Last Man Standing match on this night) – although the way WWE...

Welcome to this week’s Friday Night Smackdown review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a couple of prize fights and a Gauntlet Match for a Universal Title shot at the Royal Rumble. Would you like to tell me what you and that Melanie Harbuckle are doing butt-naked in the bathtub with momma’s rubber-dongs in your poop-shoots? I don’t like this. I’m trying to review Friday Night Smackdown and you’re busy shoving it in your crack-slats! You are terrible children! If it wasn’t for the fact that you were married, in your thirties and in the comfort of a home that you pay for, I’d kick your asses. Okay, I’ve got matches to review and you…are calling the cops. Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Match #1: Asuka def. Zelina Vega – Raw Women’s Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After a heated confrontation backstage prior to the bell, Zelina Vega came out of the gates furiously as she tried to prove herself once again against Raw Women’s Champion Asuka. Vega put in a solid effort, but The Empress of Tomorrow cinched in the Asuka Lock to earn the submission victory and retain her title.
My Opinion: 3.3 out of 5 – This was another good match from these two,...

They did it! They actually did it! Roman Reigns is a heel!
WWE essentially confirmed the change in Reigns’ character at its Payback special, following Reigns’ return at SummerSlam last weekend.
Reigns returned after Bray Wyatt beat Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship, spearing both the new champ and the former champ before standing tall as SummerSlam went off the air.
Fast-forward to this past Friday on SmackDown, and Adam Pearce was tasked with finding Reigns and having him sign a contract for a three-way match at Payback, where he would challenge Wyatt for the Universal Title along with Strowman in the main event.
The plotline weaved throughout the show, and when Pearce finally caught up with Reigns, he was sitting in a locker room backstage. Reigns said he would “wreck everything, then leave,” which is apparently his new tagline, and then said he would walk out of Payback as the Universal Champion.

According to reports, WWE had as many as two-dozen wrestlers and employees test positive for coronavirus this week. A few miles away in the same state of Florida, Aew had Qt Marshall stay home because he came into contact with someone diagnosed with the coronavirus and Jon Moxley, the Aew Champion, sat out last night’s show after his wife, WWE announcer Renee Young, shared that she has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
While there are reports that up to two-dozen people from WWE have tested positive, Young has publicly confirmed her diagnosis along with WWE producer Adam Pearce.
Ok … it’s time to stop taping wrestling.
WWE and Aew are simply being irresponsible at this point. Florida was one of the first states to re-open and there is analysis that now suggests it could be the new epicenter for the virus. Earlier on Thursday, some states (including Texas) began to...

Welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the final card before Final Battle, so let’s see what we get out of it all before the big show arrives.
Match #1: Flip Gordon versus Silas Young – I Quit Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Before the opening bell, Gordon — who will face Bully Ray in an I Quit Match at Final Battle on Dec. 14 — challenged Young to make it an I Quit Match. Young responded with a cheap shot to Gordon’s throat and then accepted the stipulation. Young stayed on the attack early, but Gordon rallied with a flurry of offense, including a springboard spear and a suicide dive. A fired-up Gordon then whipped Young into the guardrail, suplexed him on the floor and hit a moonsault off the top rope onto Young on the outside.
