Phase two of the competition has officially kicked into high gear, with the Red (Blood) tribe and the Blue (Water) tribe merging into one group. Khanh Ong and Melissa “Mel” Chiang were the first two boots of the Purple (Lava) tribe, and they’re both now members of the jury that will decide who ultimately wins the $500,000 grand prize.
Of the remaining 11 players, only Mark is holding onto a hidden immunity idol. Amazingly, he decided to keep that information from his wife Sam when the tribes merged, claiming he would have told her at a later date.

After two weeks (that’s six episodes) of “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water,” Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine is still in the game. For all you “Survivor” fans who aren’t able to watch, Gold Derby recapped this week’s episodes — Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6 — and we’ll be covering the show all throughout the season. This season is modeled after the 27th and 29th editions of the main franchise in that it features pairs of players connected by blood, all in the hopes of answering the age-old question: Is blood truly thicker than water? On Day 1, host Jonathan Lapaglia split those pairs up between two tribes: the Red tribe representing blood and the Blue tribe representing water.

1. The kid and the wicked witch.
It’s Day 13 at the Red camp, and 22-year-old Jesse Hansen jokes around with his tribe and reveals they have a nickname for him: “the kid.” He hopes he can use his playfulness to advance him far into the game. Meanwhile, over at the Blue camp, Sophie Cachia calls herself the “wicked witch of the outback” because her tribe(s) just can’t seem to get rid of her. Even though she’s safe, she knows she’s on the bottom.
