Jacobs takes over Sony reality
Former Fox Television Studios alternative chief Holly Jacobs is joining Sony Pictures Television as head of reality and syndicated programming.
Jacobs, who is starting her new post as senior vp reality and syndication programming on Monday, according to sources, will oversee development and current for Sony's reality programming for broadcast and cable networks. She also will oversee the development of syndicated programs.
Jacobs, based in Los Angeles, is replacing Melanie Chilek, who is leaving the company.
Jacobs, who will be reporting to Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, SPT's co-presidents of programming and production, most recently was executive vp alternative development at FtvS. She was one of three department heads let go in May in an executive shake-up following the appointment of Emiliano Calemzuk as the production company's new president.
During her tenure at FtvS, Jacobs oversaw the development and production of such series as Fox's "Talk Show With Spike Feresten" and CW's "Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants."
Before joining FtvS in 2004, she was executive vp programming and development at Buena Vista Prods.
