Studied law at the University of Mannheim, passing the first state examination in 1993; completed his legal clerkship at the Heilbronn District Court with the second state examination in 1995.
Since 1995 attorney at law; 2001 foundation of the law firm in Heilbronn: T H S B - Throm, Hauser, Strobl, von Berlichingen.
1984 Joined the Junge Union; 1986 Joined the CDU; 1994 to March 2022 Heilbronn City Council and 2003 to March 2018 Chairman of the CDU municipal caucus in the Heilbronn City Council; 2004 to 2019 First Deputy Mayor of the City of Heilbronn from among the municipal council members; 2006 to 2018 Chairman of the CDU in the Heilbronn City Association; since 2017 Chairman of the CDU Heilbronn District Association.
2011 to 2016 Member of the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg; there, member of the Interior and Europe Committee as well as CDU representative in the ENBW Investigation Committee.
Since 2017, member of the German Bundestag; since December 2021, spokesman on domestic policy for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.
