María Zeballos
Maria Zeballos was born on June 14, 1979. Since she was a child she
showed a strong passion for singing, dancing and performing. She
started to play the guitar at the age of six. The first time she sang
in public was at a school show at the age of 8. With the passing of the
years she took part in several choirs; in the church, at school. She
also took part in many School Concerts playing the leading roles on the
plays put on, such as "My Fair Lady", "The Wizard of Oz", "A Mid-Summer
Night's Dream", among others. At the age of 17 she went to University
to study Music (UCA) and took her first singing lessons. After two
years in Uni, she dropped out to get into the Julio Bocca Musical
Comedy Studio. There she took singing, dancing and acting lessons. At
the same time she worked as a music teacher in English in a Bilingual
School, teaching 6 to 8 year old kids and gave guitar private lessons.
On the year 2003 she auditioned for a Reality Show and was chosen among
thousands of people to participate in Operacion Triunfo, the
world-famous singing TV contest that had its first edition in
Argentina. The TV show was a great phenomenon. Among the 18 contestants
of the show, Maria became one of the favorites among the public. She
worked very hard and almost reached the final instances of the show.
She abandoned the Academy two weeks before the final; anyhow she had
the opportunity to record 2 songs on the album "5 Sueños" (Five Dreams)
which was released at the beginning of 2004 with great success. It
contains 11 songs: "Todo Lo Hago Por Ti" and "No me importa" sang by
Mery Zeta. With a great talent, she's got a powerful but at the same
time warm voice. But her talent goes beyond the vocal techniques and
embraces you emotionally. Now, after her brief but successful
appearance on the famous TV show, she holds a promising career.
