Ten years ago today, TMZ published an audio recording of former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling saying racist things surreptitiously captured by his mistress, V. Stiviano. The recording led to his downfall, and changed the NBA forever.
If you’re not a basketball fan, you might not remember the story. But FX’s limited series “Clipped,” which just got its first trailer today, makes a case for the Donald Sterling saga as a “People v. O.J. Simpson”-style story about race, class, power, and that unique corner of America known as Los Angeles.
Per FX, “Clipped” “charts the collision between a dysfunctional basketball organization and even less functional marriage, and the precipitating tape’s impact on an ensemble of characters striving to win against the backdrop of the most cursed team in the league.”
“Clipped” stars Ed O’Neill as Sterling, a man who made his fortune building an L.

HBO had the Lakers, now FX has the Clippers. Will the series’ fates differ (as the real-life teams’ have), or will “Clipped” face the same quick, quiet end as “Winning Time”? We’ll find out this June, when FX’s latest ripped-from-the-headlines adaptation premieres exclusively on Hulu. The trailer was released Thursday, April 25 — just under six weeks prior to the premiere — and now you can watch the first footage below.
Set in 2013, the six-episode limited series stars Ed O’Neill as L.A. Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling and Laurence Fishburne as the team’s head coach, Doc Rivers. Formerly with the Boston Celtics (who won an NBA title in 2008), Rivers had just joined the Clippers when the owner’s racist comments went public, sending the organization into a tailspin and Sterling into a power struggle with Rivers, players, and the NBA at large. Fans may have said their goodbyes to the Showtime series, but the world created within it is yet to be over, with a spinoff already planned and greenlit.
In October 2023, fans of the hit TV series learned that Showtime plans to have not one – or two, mind you – spinoff of the successful series but four.
Hopefully, it won’t go the way most of “Game of Thrones’” spinoffs have gone and every one of them will see production.
Speaking of production, “Billions: London” is gearing up to start filming in August. To maintain familiarity with the original show, even though we’re headed to a brand new location, the network has wisely retained original creators and executive producers Brian Koppelman and David Levien.

This is Day 112 of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Striking actors in New York City hit the picket lines in extra layering Thursday with the weather turning colder and their union’s strike against studios and streamers extending into its fifth calendar month.
Amid reports of progress in the talks out west between SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, picketers spotted Thursday outside AMPTP member company offices in Manhattan included Annabella Sciorra, Terry Kinney, Kelly AuCoin, Glenn Fleshler, Stephen Kunken, Carrie Gibson, Michael Cyril Creighton, Frank C. Williams and Stephanie D’Abruzzo.
Actors said that they are doing their best to balance hopes for a settlement — which have been dashed before — with managed expectations while most continue to go without paying work.
“It’s a fine line,” Gibson, a SAG-AFTRA strike captain who had a recurring role on Max’s Barry, told Deadline at a picket outside NBCUniversal headquarters at Rockefeller Center.

Every Christmas movie has to have its scrooge. In Alexander Payne’s holiday-set dramedy The Holdovers, the curmudgeon is Paul Hunham (Paul Giamatti), a long-time teacher at Barton Academy, an elite Massachusetts boarding school. Paul treats the affluent students in his ancient history class with contempt, gleefully terrorizing them with poor grades in order to trip up their otherwise smooth rides to fancy colleges. He’s the kind of teacher who flunks almost everyone on their end-of-semester exam and then assigns the class extra homework over the holidays as prep for yet another exam as soon as they get back. Bah humbug, indeed.
It’s not just the students at Barton who loathe Paul. So does the school’s administration. Hence Paul being saddled with holdover duty over the winter break—that is, to supervise any students who, for whatever reason, can’t go on lavish vacations like the rest of their peers,...

We all at some point in life want to be owners of billions of dollars or billions of rupees and nobody will disagree with me when I say that.
But many of us do not will be able to accomplish that dream in our life and that’s not to anything be said about it because we have at least a series titled Billions which has recently come up with season 7 and soon going to come up with the Episode 5 of the season.
And I can pretty much show that after watching the first episode of this series you must be definitely excited to know about the release schedule of the upcoming episodes of it and specifically the second episode if you are not able to hold the excitement in your heart!

Like many an entertaining addict, Hildy Good is a great storyteller, providing withering judgments about the people in her orbit amidst all the latest gossip. But like all addicts, the stories she tells always exonerate herself and her behavior — she’s just fine, it’s everyone else who’s messed up. And so what if she sneaks wine after having already been sent to rehab? She never drinks before 5pm, so it’s not like she’s an alcoholic or anything.
Sigourney Weaver plunges herself into the role of Hildy in “The Good House,” and it’s been a while since this titan of cinema has been given a character with the complexity (and the screen time) that the actor deserves. Weaver’s droll comic style has surfaced periodically over the course of...

TV’s revolving door of true-crime miniseries kept spinning on Tuesday, with the three-episode arrival of Hulu’s The Girl From Plainville.
The eight-episode drama, which stars The Great‘s Elle Fanning, chronicles the death of Conrad Roy, a teenager who died by suicide in 2014. The titular girl here is Conrad’s then-girlfriend, Michelle Carter, who was tried for involuntary manslaughter after seemingly encouraging Conrad to end his life in their extensive text message history. (For those unfamiliar with how the trial shook out, I’ll let the show fill in those details.)
