- Judit Polgár was born on July 23, 1976 in Budapest, Hungary. She is an actress, known for Isten veletek, barátaim (1987), Chess Kids (1996) and The Polgar Variant (2014). She has been married to Gusztav Font since 2000. They have two children.

- In recent years she has worked to promote chess for children as an educational tool. She has written two children's books on chess.
- She is generally considered the best female chess player in history. She began winning international tournaments when she was 9 years old. At 15, she became the youngest-ever international chess grandmaster, a distinction previously held by Bobby Fischer.
- In 2013 she was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary Commander's Cross with Star.
- Her two sisters, Susan and Sofia, are also accomplished chess players.
