- Martin Koch is known for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018), Billy Elliot (2014) and One Summer of Happiness (1951).

- He was the main conductor of the orchestra for the Eurovision song contest 1998 in Birmingham and also arranged the interval act, a modern version of Holst's Jupiter.
- In 2009, Martin Koch and Michael Starobin & Tom Kitt tied for the Tony Award for Best Orchestrations. Martin won for "Billy Elliot, the Musical" and Michael and Tom won for "Next to Normal". Theirs was the only tie in this category and the tenth of ten ties overall in Tony history.
