Michael Gindin was born in Leningrad (Soviet Union). An engineer by training, he graduated from the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute (now St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University). In 1952-1959 he worked in his specialty. Since 1955, he wrote humoresques and satirical reviews for the stage. With two friends under "Ginryary" pseudonym they performed at the World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow (1957). After a successful performances, they received an invitation from the Leningrad Miniature Theater of Arkady Raikin. Collaboration with A. Raikin continued for many years after the collapse of the creative trio. In collaboration with Genrikh Ryabkin, then with Vladimir Sinakevich he wrote full-fledged plays for theaters. Gindin is also the author of film scripts. Since 1964, he has been published in magazines with fantastic fairy tales.
