Mariana Seixas is a director at a venture capital firm, as well as a producer, investor, and philanthropist of independent film. She earned her first producer credit with "The Strawberry Jam" (2023), starring Julian Morris (The Morning Show; New Girl) and Kathy Searle (NCIS: Hawaii; Love in Kilnerry), which went on to win the Chicago Arthouse Charlie Chaplin award for best short film of the year. Her second film, "The Folly of Paris, Or, the Original Snub" (2024), starred Tony-nominated Christopher Sieber and Tara Westwood (The Grudge; Fleishman Is in Trouble) and is at the start of its 2024 festival run. For "Folly," Mariana also rolled up her sleeves and joined the film's camera crew on set.
In her corporate work, Mariana manages legal matters for global powerhouse investment firm Softbank Investment Advisers, which includes overseeing the SoftBank Latin America Funds, with over US$7.5 billion invested in growth-stage start-ups across the region, including investments in the media content, entertainment, and media technology sectors. Mariana has built a track record for financial and executive contributions to film development and production. In addition to investing in independent film, she is a Sundance Film Festival donor and attendee and has hosted numerous events for cast and crew in Park City and New York City. She looks forward to expanding her reach to other independent film festivals in 2024.
