Clarinettist and composer, famed for co-writing (with
Hoagy Carmichael)the classic "Lazy River". Arodin was one of the few white musicians to perform in both white and black orchestras. Between 1922 and 1925, he was a member of the Original New Orleans Jazz Band in New York. He subsequently returned to the South and played in Texas and Louisiana. Plagued by ill-health, he died young, aged just 46.
