The sequel revisits protagonist Tom (Sheen) a decade after his first pilgrimage on Spain’s El Camino de Santiago in the footsteps of his deceased son Daniel (Estevez), as he reconnects with his walking companions Joost (van Wageningen) and Jack (Nisbitt).
Now embedded with Doctors Without Borders in northern Nigeria, performing surgery in a war zone, Tom is sent a copy of Jack’s bestselling book based on their shared experience, in which a disturbing secret is revealed.

E! announced the return of its nightly entertainment news program “E! News,” with TV personality Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and E! News’ Justin Sylvester tapped to serve as the show’s co-hosts. The nightly broadcast is set to return on Monday, November 14 at 11:30 p.m. Et/Pt.

Dan Levy’s upcoming HBO Max cooking competition “The Big Brunch” has found its judging panel: Joining Levy at the judges’ table will be chef Sohla El-Waylly and restaurateur Will Guidara. The unscripted series — created and hosted by Levy, and produced by Boardwalk Pictures — will premiere on the streamer later this year.
In the announcement, Levy and fellow executive producers Andrew Fried and Sarina Roma of Boardwalk Pictures said: “We owed it to our competing chefs to find judges who could help them in really meaningful ways — both in the kitchen and beyond, and Sohla and Will do just that. They each have such distinctly unique culinary voices that combined, speak not only to flavor and technique, but also business and hospitality. Dave and Odette Annable will guest star on Fox’s “Fantasy Island,” Variety has learned exclusively. The reboot of the hit 1970s series will premiere on August 10 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
On the surface, their characters, Zev and Daphne, have a great marriage, great jobs and a child-free life. However, as they settle into their routines and habits, they’re just not connecting the way they used to. In an attempt to rekindle their spark, they travel to the titular Fantasy Island to seek out the “ultimate adventure.” As usual, the island gives more than what’s expected.
“Fantasy Island” takes place at a luxury resort, where literally any fantasy requested by guests is fulfilled, although they rarely turn out as expected. Each episode will tell emotional, provocative stories about people who arrive with dreams and desires and depart enlightened and transformed through the magical realism of Fantasy Island.

ABC has given a greenlight to cooking-competition series “Family Food Fight” from Endemol Shine North America. Based on the Australian format of the same name, the show will pit eight families from across the United States against each other in a battle to determine which is the country’s top food family. Restaurateur and cookbook author Ayesha Curry will serve as host of the show.
Putting regional cooking on display, “Family Food Fight” will see competing families vie for a grand prize of $100,000. No premiere date has yet been set.
Curry had previously served as co-host of ABC’s “The Great American Baking Show,” which was abruptly canceled by ABC last year after abuse allegations against judge Johnny Iuzzini surfaced. A former actress and the wife of Golden State Warriors basketball star Stephen Curry, she also previously hosted the show “Ayesha’s Homemade” for The Food Network.

ABC has acquired rights to Family Food Fight, a culinary competition series based on an Aussie format from Endemol Shine Australia. The network will air eight episodes, with a date to be announced. Restaurateur and cookbook author Ayesha Curry will host, and judges will be unveiled at a later date.
The series features eight families competing against one another using their own recipes to vie for the title of “America’s No. 1 Food Family,” with the winner taking home a $100,000 prize. ABC said the show will “focus on relatable, yet aspirational, home-cooked meals, inspiring budding home cooks across the nation to don their aprons and get into the kitchen together.”
The Aussie series was recently renewed for a second season on Nine.

Former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi has landed a new TV judging gig. Bravo is entering the music competition reality genre with a 10-episode series order to Going Platinum, a competition for emerging singer-songwriters that will star DioGuardi and Jewel who are established songwriters themselves. Jewel will host the series as well as give her feedback alongside DioGuardi who will be the series head judge. The series, which has been in development as Hitmakers and started casting in April, is in production in Los Angeles for a 2011 run. Going Platinum (working title) will follow 12 musicians as they battle through a series of songwriting challenges testing their creativity, patience and drive. In the end, one will be crowned the ultimate hitmaker and walk away with a $100,000 cash prize, publishing deal with Sony, Bmi Songwriters The Writing Camp and a recording deal with RCA/Jive.
