Alex Khalyavin
- Visual Effects
Los Angeles based Senior Pipeline TD / Tools developer / CG Generalist / Technical Artist.
Having a bit of early microelectronics background and 8086Asm/C in baggage, started in CG field back in 1991 from the very first versions of software like Photoshop, 3D Studio / 3dsMax, Real3D, Imagine, and eventually more convenient these days Maya and Houdini. Always been inclined to the technical side of computer graphics, i.e. scripts, plug-ins. Worked around 15 years as a CG Generalist well familiar with every stage of CG workflows: match moving, modeling, procedural animation, rendering, scripting, juggling cross-DCC data. Game studios, broadcast graphics, commercials, annual events, projection mapping and such projects. Eventually became a full time CG developer with practical experience in almost every modern DCC and every rendering system available on market.
Additional personal interests: Alternative "weird" languages like: Julia, NIM, Zig, D. Image and Mesh processing, procedural generative geometry. Photography, astronomy, cosmology and AI.
