- He first met with Andrew Leavold in the mid-nineties as a customer in his store, Trash Video. Several years down the track, one of Gahan's short films screened in a touring film festival run by Leavold, this lead to a collaboration whereby the pair worked on a music video for one of Leavold's bands and later a feature film.

- His debut feature-length documentary 'Gone Lesbo Gone: The Untold Tale of an Unseen Film!' was the opening night film of the Brisbane Underground Film Festival on January 8th, 2015.
- Picked-up Second Place at Trasharama 2014 for his short film, 'Budget Cuts'.
- Received 'Best Documentary' for 'Gone Lesbo Gone: The Untold Tale of an Unseen Film!' at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival 2015 in Melbourne, VIC (Australia).
- Received the 'Special Jury Prize' at the Diamond In The Rough Film Festival 2015 in San Jose, CA (United States) for his documentary, 'Gone Lesbo Gone: The Untold Tale of an Unseen Film!'.
- Gahan appeared as a guest on 'Running On Empty' (2015) in the first season and would later go on to direct, produce, shoot and edit the second season.
