Liliana Rodriguez Cortes
Liliana Rodriguez Cortes was born in Mexico City, Mexico but grew up in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico where she developed her love for nature and culture. She has spent more than 20 years pursuing her passion, initially within the Government of Mexico's National Commission of Natural Protected Areas, then as an advisor on community-based development within the private sector, academic institutions, local and international NGOs, foundations, and as a Delegate to the United Nations. In providing support to marine conservation and management initiatives she has become increasingly involved in communicating and documenting the impact of humanity on nature and what can be done to re-balance this relationship and build sustainable and resilient communities.
