I am an independent filmmaker, born in Tehran with Iranian nationality. As I don't believe in the concept of a piece of land as identity, but ofcourse there's the experience, I call myself a Diaspora nomad, an identity that relates to my body and experience as my homeland. The same goes for the other parts of my relationship to my body, which is why I call myself Queer (Bisexual), as I believe in the performative meaning of identities and not in the categorization of bodies under a singular detained identity. and Of course, this approach caused one of my interests to seek elements such as nomadic essence and the Diaspora or minority's eye within cinema as a medium and as schizophrenic expressions of each person and era.
I started my journey in this medium from Underground and personal filmmaking while I was living in Iran since 2019. The first era of my filmmaking life was after quitting theatre directing when I was 22 and making montages from my daily recorded footage from my life and the city around me, and making fiction from those pictures by using archived footage from history, news, and theological texts, films, and videos such as "Babylon Ballad of a Fall-2021", "Time-Movement-2020" and "Babylon: Songs of Oblivion-2022" was made through this way.
After my Move from Tehran to Brussels, I finished that passage of my life as that kind of underground filmmaker in Iran (which was due to the political and personal situation that I had to make in that way). In the first year of my stay in Brussels, through meeting up with some friends and schoolmates, I wrote my first feature, and without any budget, we started the project by writing an agreement that mentioned that all of the earned profits from the film would be divided among all the team members. This was the story of how we found "Interzone Cinema group" and made "The Divinity Of a City 2023/24"
