Rafael Gomez is an attorney-turned writer/director. Born in Newark, New
Jersey, to Cuban parents, Rafael grew up in a rough neighborhood in
Chicago, which greatly influenced his writing. His stories focus on
inner city life with a Latin flavor.
In 2001, he co-founded Archangel Films, LLC with William Russell.
Together, Rafael and Bill developed, obtained financing and produced
Double Deuce (2003) which was filmed in August of 2002. Double Deuce was then
picked up for distribution by York Entertainment in early 2003.
Rafael holds a Juris Doctoris (with Honors) from Harvard Law School and
an A.B. in Finance and Economics (Summa Cum Laude) from the University
of Illinois - Urbana/Champaign. He also studied economics at the
University of London. He is currently working in Beverly Hills,
California as an entertainment attorney, and is developing his next
movie, entitled ".357 Mambo."
