There's nothing like the end of the world to give someone a new lease of life. But that's just what happens in director Chad Peter's new indie comedy fantasy Apocalypse, CA.
Throw in a 300ft giant, a genie granting magic wishes and a group of young people who want to enjoy every moment as the world heads towards annihilation and you get an idea of what's in store.
Chad has assembled this crazy goodie bag of genre filmmaking ideas for his debut feature film, which was completed last month and hits DVD, iTunes and Netflix on December 13.
Apocalypse, CA has a cast including Nick Mathis (Grim Reaper), Erin Bodine, Anne McDaniels (Death on Demand), Alexander Cardinale, Elizabeth Sandy and Sarah Smick, plus an original score by Avi Ghosh.
An official synopsis, poster and images are included here.

Okay, answer this one…what has giant asteroid on a collision course with Earth, a 300-foot tall woman, mind-bending drugs an all-out gun battle? If you said Apocalypse, CA, the upcoming film with a December 13 DVD release date, then you were absolutely right! (and probably a bit psychic…how could you know that?)
From the mind of writer/director/cinematographer Chad Peter, Apocalypse, CA stars Nick Mathis, Erin Bodine, Anne McDaniels, Alexander Cardinale, Elizabeth Sandy, Sarah Smick, Ryan Jordan with a score penned by Avi Ghosh. We've got the trailer for you below. Check it out and you'll see what I mean when I say unique. This film looks like it has real potential to be something interesting and different.

Synopsis:
Wry, cynical and full of off-beat humor, Apocalypse, CA is the story of John Parsons and his
ill-fated friends as they prepare for certain death at the hands of a massive asteroid, sex-
inducing drugs, a three-hundred foot giant, and a horde of other unfortunate problems.
Apocalypse, CA is an indie cult film of catastrophic proportions, featuring outstanding visual
effects from artists Ryan Wieber (Ryan vs. Dorkman) and Teague Chrystie (The Pacific) in this
feature film directorial debut by Chad Peter (behind the popular Internet short films, Sex, Drugs
& Natalie Portman & Roleplayed).
Mysterious radio personality and apparent part-time genie, ‘Sassy Boots’ (Elizabeth Sandy)
takes it upon herself to grant John Parsons (Nick Mathis) a few wishes five days before the
world is to be destroyed by an asteroid. Only problem is John’s wishes aren’t exactly calculated,
or even planned – the end result of which is a situation far worse than before.

Apocalypse, CA
Directed by: Chad Peter
Starring: Nick Mathis, Erin Bodine, Anne McDaniels
Rating: Nr
Release Date: Tbd
Trailer Score: 7/10
My Thoughts:
It’s the end of the world and I feel fine. Actually, watching this trailer, I don’t exactly feel fine but damn I’m curious. Director Chad Peter isn’t working with a huge budget but he’s able to hide it very well in this “world is ending” movie. Something he can’t hide, a giant woman. Nor should he. Perfectly teased, I have no idea if this more than 50-foot woman is fantasy, delusion, or an allegory about environmental destruction.
It’s actually a little shocking that a film dealing with the boredom of impending annihilation doesn’t already exist. That seems to be the hook before the action comes. Mathis slides into the role of the every man we can identify with while trying to understand this world.

"The Last Rendezvous" - Rubin & Samantha and Wendell & Angela are two couples who are in for the time of their lives when a scandal leads them all to an abandoned house. Now a killer stalks and terrorizes them without mercy. Can they escape the masked maniac, or will they die trying? "Navstar...
