- In 2007, Kimi Meguro entered a university of the arts in Tokyo. His English teacher was a japanese director Nagisa Oshima's son.

As he waited for a film screening, a young festival staff member showed him where Gael García Bernal was staying. After that, he met Gael at the entrance of the hotel. Also, Best Director winner of the fest Anahí Berneri followed his social media, watched Kimi's film and told him of her recommendation.
