Walid Khaldi is a longtime, award-winning filmmaker, writer and director known for his direction of Spencer Williams: Remembrances of an Early Black Pioneer (1996), a documentary about the filmmaker of race films and actor best known as Andy on TV's Amos 'n' Andy Show. Khaldi also is president and producer director at Dallas-area-based Golden Moon Films.
His career spans both decades and the globe with stints in television in the U.S., Syria, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. After many successful years as a film archivist and instructor at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Khaldi formed GMF in 1996. GMF's current projects include documentaries about Pablo Picasso, black entertainment from 1888 to the present and the late actor, television producer and filmmaker William Greaves.
