Touring with his hard rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires, the band’s latest concert in Budapest has been cancelled, and that too at the last minute as Depp ended up passing out at the hotel.
According to Hungarian news outlet Blikk, the ‘Edward Scissor Hands’ star missed the sound check ahead of the scheduled concert, but it created no suspicions whatsoever as this wasn’t the first time he did that.
A source at Blikk reported, quoted by Aceshowbiz: “Everything was set, the stage was set, the backstage crew was ready for the party. It didn’t even occur to me that there could be a problem, especially as the band members had done the sound set-up that had been scheduled for the afternoon.”
“No one thought any more about the fact that Johnny Depp didn’t take part, his microphone was set up by a staff member, but that’s not unusual for such stars.

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has announced a new solo album, Sweetzerland Manifesto Mkii, the follow-up to the first Sweetzerland Manifesto released back in 2018.
Ahead of the new album’s May 26th release date, Perry also shared the lead single “Fortunate One” featuring The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson. The rollicking blues rocker is tangental to Robinson’s longtime band and solo work, and he sounds right at home over Perry’s licks and solos. Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert Deleo also plays on “Fortunate One,” continuing the Sweetzerland Manifesto tradition of Perry bringing in guest singers and musicians.
“I’m really excited to get this song out — it hadn’t been written when the first version of Sweetzerland Manifesto was released,” Perry commented via a press release. “My old friend Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes sang on it, he knocked it outta the park! We started it in L.A.

When the Doors’ producer, Paul A. Rothchild, suggested adding orchestral strings and horns to guitarist Robby Krieger’s song “Touch Me,” Krieger was not happy. It was two years after Sgt. Pepper, and he says he was wary of the band being seen as copycats. “I said, ‘Oh, God. Now we’re copying the Beatles,’ and the Stones had just done their version of the orchestra thing,” he recalls. “So it was like we were keeping up with the Joneses or something.” Also, he worried the move might alienate the band’s fan base.

Stone Temple Pilots lost their captivating former front man Scott Weiland earlier this month to an accidental drug overdose, and now the band's remaining members are paying tribute to the late singer the only way they know how: through their music. Rolling Stone has shared a video that Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo, and Eric Kretz put together in which they eulogize Weiland with an unreleased version of "Atlanta," off the band's fourth album, No. 4. "We feel it represents one of the times in our career that Scott was truly at his best," they say before walking fans through the recording, describing Weiland's emotional vulnerability and underrated vocal performance. The original was already a soaring rock ballad for a lover, but this version, given the context, is something even more special. Go ahead and have a good cry.

Stone Temple Pilots and Chester Bennington amicably parted ways on Monday, but that didn't stop the band from taking the stage on Jimmy Kimmel Live! later that night. Luckily, the group had already been set up with a new singer: Joss Stone.
"Joss Stone Temple Pilots," as the pair was pun-tastically billed, soared through a rendition of Stp's 1994 hit, "Interstate Love Song" as part of Kimmel's ongoing "Mash Up Monday" series. Stone's brassy, soulful vocals fit perfectly with Stone Temple Pilots' crunchy, post-grunge riffage, and a three-piece horn section...

Any film about superstar entertainer Glen Campbell would, by its very nature, tend to be extraordinary. But Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, a film exploring the devastating effects of Alzheimer's disease, which affects some five million Americans over the age of 65, including the 78-year-old singer, could have been a much trickier proposition. By putting the project in the capable hands of producer James Keach (who also produced the Oscar-winning 2005 Johnny Cash biopic, Walk the Line), however, Campbell's family has ensured that the conversation about the debilitating disease will continue and will,...

We know one person who’s probably not too happy about this: Stone Temple Pilots and the group’s new lead singer, Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, will release an Ep this fall and embark on a North American tour in September. After parting ways with original lead singer, Scott Weiland, earlier this year, Stp members Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz recruited Bennington to perform with them at the Kroq Los Angeles’ multi-artist Weenie Roast in May. Stp then filed suit against Weiland demanding that he stop using the Stp name and that he stop singing Stp songs. Weiland countersued. But in...

So shocking! The Stone Temple Pilots announced on Feb. 27 that they fired their lead singer, the voice behind the band’s biggest hits in the 1990s.
Scott Weiland and the Stone Temple Pilots may be engaged in a long legal battle after the band terminated their lead singer on Feb. 27. A reason for the firing has not been revealed, but Scott is not happy at all.
“Stone Temple Pilots have announced they have officially terminated Scott Weiland,” the band, now consisting of bassist Robert DeLeo, guitarist Dean DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz, said in a statement on Feb. 27.
“I learned of my supposed ‘termination’ from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press,” Scott, 45, said in his own statement, according to Reuters. ”Not sure how I can be ‘terminated’ from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that’s...

On Tuesday (May 24), Stone Temple Pilots will drop their new self-titled album, which represents their comeback after nearly a decade on the rocks and the sixth of their career. The group has survived a lifetime of trouble, from attacks from critics to the substance abuse troubles of problematic frontman Scott Weiland. But they're back on track with a new album and a killer live show, and it's time to reevaluate their entire career.
Stone Temple Pilots got off on the wrong foot back in 1993 when their breakout single "Plush" turned them into instant MTV and modern rock radio staples. Their biggest sin? "Plush" (and Weiland's vocal in particular) sounded a bit like Pearl Jam (of course, so did every other rock band who dropped a single in '93). The idea that Stp sounded exactly like Pearl Jam was so ubiquitous that it even got a joke on "Saturday Night Live" (made by David Spade,...

Stone Temple Pilots rocker Robert Deleo is set to become a dad again - his wife is set to give birth to the couple's second child at the end of the month. DeLeo let the happy news slip during a weekend interview with ThePulseofRadio.com, revealing he has a busy summer of diaper changing, record releases and touring.
He says, "With a wife and a four-year-old son right now, and another son coming at the end of May, this year is definitely gonna be a year for me personally of wearing a lot of hats. I've got a record being released on May 25 and a son coming on May 28 and then a tour that's gonna take me up to the end of 2011, so it's gonna be a juggle. But I'm up for it."
A self-titled album is the first that the band will release in almost 9 years. The effort which...

Austin, Texas — Were we, perhaps, wrong about the Stone Temple Pilots? Well, not all of us, but an overwhelming majority of the so-called rock critics, the gatekeepers whose job it is to separate the good from the bad, the wheat from the chaff? Did we completely miss the boat on Stp? Were they something more than Nirvana-bes? Were they — gasp! — actually a pretty great band?
Short answer: probably. Because on Thursday night at South by Southwest — the night when the fest (un)officially shifts into high gear — Stp put on a positively bombastic show at the Austin Music Hall. It was packed with more hits than you could possibly remember, and it served notice to the hundreds of bratty,...
