- When I was starting, in the 1970s, much of the right wing infrastructure didn't exist yet. They were just building it. But now, it's enormous. It really has a dominant influence on our discourse, our thoughts and our policy agenda. And the old liberal institutions that used to exist have come to be overshadowed by these right-wing groups that are very noisy and very focused and very ideological. I think you are going to see more liberals starting to fight back against that and assert themselves more. In a way that can only enrich the political dialogue that we have which is now very monochromatic, and in my opinion, dull. [2004]
