Scot Francis Barbour was born in Oakland California and raised in a
section of Union City called "Old Alvarado". After leaving high school
early, he worked as a locksmith in the San Francisco Bay Area for the
better part of the next 12 years and put himself through college,
graduating in 1998 from SFSU with a degree in Cinema Production.
After college Scot moved to Los Angeles and began his film career in
Post Production. He quickly moved up the ranks from an Avid technician,
to an Assistant Editor, Editor and after a few years he was teaching
Editing courses at UCLA Extension and many Hollywood training
facilities. Scot has since worked in many roles in the film making
process, including Producing and Directing his own films. He was hired
in 2003 by Apple Inc. and served as their liaison to the Hollywood
studios for development of their software for feature films and
episodic television.
