21:30We're filling some time while the voting takes place, so here's another look back at the series. Have you enjoyed it?
21:28Well, we don't really know what to say about Michael Flatley. It was all very energetic and we do kind of want one of his dancers' sparkly tops, mind. He promises that it really was his last TV performance: "I'm a bit long in the tooth now."

The grueling terrain and weather conditions in National Geographic Channel’s Ultimate Survival Alaska continue to challenge Team Military in the series’ third season. Fans are gunning for Team Military to grab a leg victory; support that’s not lost on teammates Jared Ogden, a former Navy Seal; Daniel Dean, a former Marine Scout sniper; and Grady Powell, a former Green Beret and survival instructor. “We have a lot on our shoulders. We’re representing ourselves, we’re representing the military, but we’re also representing America, as a whole,” Grady told us at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena last week. … Continue reading →

Panavision needs to pay up what it owes, says a bank that is taking the camera supply company to court for $1.7 million. The money is the remainder of a two-part $335 million refinancing that Panavision worked out back in 2006 with Credit Suisse. Most of that debt was cancelled in 2010 in a further financing restructuring. Still, a bit was left over and has supposedly not been paid by Panavision since the debt matured at the end of March 2012. Late last month Wilmington Trust, National Association filed paperwork with the New York State Supreme Court seeking a summary judgment from the court to get the money back. Wilmington, the collateral agent for Credit Suisse, is claiming breach of contract and wants the $1.7 million plus interest, legal costs and “such other and further relief as this Court deems just and proper”.But here’s the thing: They could end up getting a piece of...

‘True art has a mind of its own. It cannot be forced into flattering moulds.’
- Beethoven, 1820.
The inauguration of the Beethovenfest took place in 1845, and despite numerous challenges to its survival, it is celebrated today richer and more fervently than ever before.
The four week yearly festival is a ubiquitous force which engulfs you, instilling within you a sense of tremendous occasion. The city is awash with tangerine orange flags and posters promoting its most famous of sons and most prized cultural legacy.
The composer’s stern, masterful portrait is emblazoned on just about every street corner and if you listen closely enough, you can almost hear his symphony rhythm pulsate in the heartbeat of the city walls. Classical music is everything here – it’s in their blood.
The ‘Art has a Mind of its Own’ theme this year spoke volumes in its craving to push the boundaries of what is considered conventional,...

While we wait for The Weinstein Company to decide when they will release Paolo Sorrentino's oddball roadtrip/Holocaust drama/revenge movie "This Must Be The Place," starring Sean Penn as a burned out, eccentric rocker, the movie is gearing up to hit U.K. cinemas this weekend. And not only that, the soundtrack -- which is already on CD overseas -- is getting a new, sexy, double LP, picture-disc reissue. Not bad, right?
Though the film itself has had an uneven reception to say the least, the soundtrack boasts some pretty incredible names. Talking Heads frontman David Byrne and indie folk/country troubadour Will Oldham teamed with Irish singer-songwriter Michael Brunnock, and calling their outfit The Pieces Of Shit, the trio deliver five new songs: "Lay & Love" (a Bonnie "Prince" Billy cover), "Open Up," "Eliza," "If It Falls It Falls" and "The Sword Is Yours."
