Hitting DirecTV exclusively on February 16th is Osgood Perkins’ The Blackcoat’s Daughter, an atmospheric thriller about demonic possession and the emotional aftermath that follows an attack at a private school. The film stars Emma Roberts, Kiernan Shipka, and Lucy Boynton, who all deliver incredible performances.
Daily Dead recently had the opportunity to speak with Perkins about what inspired his approach to The Blackcoat’s Daughter, his experiences collaborating with his talented ensemble, and whether or not he’ll be returning to the world of horror for his third directorial project (his other feature film, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, is currently available on Netflix).
Look for The Blackcoat’s Daughter on DirecTV beginning February 16th, with a subsequent theatrical rollout to follow on March 31st from A24.
Congrats on the film, Oz. What I enjoyed about this film is that it has a lot...

Students in their final year at the Royal Veterinary College will be followed for a new BBC Two series.
Young Vets will focus on what happens when the new vets get their first hands-on experience, Broadcast reports.
The ten-part series will see the students in surgery and in the field, as well as focusing on some of the animals being treated.
Emma Read, from the production company behind Young Vets, said: "Our filming gives an insight into the incredible depth of training undertaken by remarkable young vets, with an abundance of heart-warming and compelling stories about the terrific characters of the students as well as the animals they're treating."
Young Vets will invite comparisons to the BBC's popular 1990s series Vet School, which followed students such as Trude Mostue and Joe Inglis.
Production has already started on Young Vets.

"Naked Britain is a fun and insightful investigation into the nation’s changing views towards nudity," said Sky1's Emma Read. "Britain is famously prudish, but this show will challenge that notion and will uncover a whole host of loud and proud nudists." Lewis added: "I want to test my own attitudes to nudity. Not 'Mad' about 'em Don Draper might need a stiff one after AMC's hyped- to-kingdom-come "Mad Men" took a tumble in its second episode Sunday night, averaging 1.3 million viewers - a dropoff of 36 percent from its July 27 season opener (2.1 million viewers). Sun day's episode also tumbled 34 percent in households and a whopping 41 percent in per sons 18-49, according to Niel sen. For the uninitiated, Draper (Jon Hamm) is the show's philandering, not- who-you- think-he-is '60s-era Madison Avenue ad exec.
