There are a lot of adjectives you can use to describe Mr. Robot, but "hopeful" isn't usually one of them. No matter how you slice it, this is a place where loved ones turn up dead, no one's to be trusted, and people eat pills out of their own puke to make the pain go away. But this week's hour-long episode, entitled "eps2.2_init1.asec," (because Mr. Robot, people) is about as bright and shiny as this show is ever likely to get. We even see a real smile out of Elliot — no Adderall involved.

No 2016 release will be more out of step with the times than this slick documentary about the Manhattan jeweller
This is effectively a 90-minute ad for a superstore: it could have been Wild About Wilko, were that estimable outlet shipping shiny stones to the 1% instead of marked-down scourers to the rest of us. Inevitably, it’s a blue-chip, high-end promo, recruiting Jessica Biel and Baz Luhrmann to gush about the Manhattan jewellers’ elaborate brooches. Still, amid its slick melding of sparkly bits from 2009’s Bride Wars, relentless Moon River and input from solitary hitmakers Deep Blue Something, little is allowed to puncture the prevailing air of self-congratulation for enabling two centuries of conspicuous consumption. No 2016 release will be further out of step with the times.

Peter Dinklage is in talks to join the cast of Deep Blue Something.
The adaptation of the John D. MacDonald mystery-adventure books also hopes to add Transformers: Age of Extinction actress Nicola Peltz to the cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film follows Travis McGee, a 'salvage consultant' who is on the trail of stolen sapphires.
Dinklage will play a gifted mathematician and sidekick to McGee.
Peltz, meanwhile, will play a woman who hires McGee to find the sapphires, but knows more about them than she lets on.
Wolverine director James Mangold will helm the project, which also stars Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike.
Dinklage can next be seen opposite Adam Sandler and Josh Gad in Sony's Pixels and Peltz currently has a recurring role on A&E's Bates Motel.

Deadline reports Wolverine director James Mangold is in negotiations to direct The Deep Blue Good-By. The film is an adaptation of the first of 21 novels author John D. MacDonald wrote about Travis McGee, a Florida houseboat-living “Salvage Consultant,” who is hired to recover valuable items. Leonardo DiCaprio was once attached to star in the project, but stepped down before talks with Mangold began. No word on whether Deep Blue Something is free to do the soundtrack, but we assume so. If we recall, they do kind of like films.
