Her husband, Charles Hamlin, is a World War II Air Force combat veteran and the author of "Fear No Evil", an historical account of combat flying in the 8th U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He flew 35 missions as a ball turret gunner in B-17 air crafts, also known as the "flying fortresses". His book is featured at the Smithsonian Institute. After the war, Charles spent 9 years assigned to U.S. embassies around the world, and later went on to become a golf professional and member of the British PGA.
