- In 1979 she joined Ann Summers, the lingerie and sex toys company bought by her father David Gold in 1972, and in 1981 pioneered the famous Ann Summers Parties which are still successful today. By 1987 she was a director, and has since gone on to run the business.
- Her sister, Vanessa Gold was the deputy managing director of her company, Ann Summers, from June 2009 to June 2011.
- She was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2016 Queen's New Years Honours List for her services to entrepreneurship, women in business and social enterprise. She is the Chief Executive of Ann Summers and Knickerbox in Old Oxted, Surrey, England.
- Gave birth to twins Scarlett and Alfie in 2009. Her son Alfie sadly died at just 8 months old.
