Sanjay Prasad, a multifaceted filmmaker, writer, director, editor and vfx artist, transitioned from the world of engineering to the grandeur of the big screen.
Born in a small town in Jharkhand, India, without any film connections, his artistic journey started with painting, extended to learning filmmaking in Kannada film industry at Bangalore while pursuing engineering, expanded to Hindi Film Industry in Mumbai where he honed his skills in Vfx, Editing, Motion Graphic and Filmmaking. Transitioning from Engg. jobs in 1995 to becoming a proficient Vfx artist, he worked with renowned studios in Mumbai.
In 2002, an opportunity with MBC TV Group in Dubai beckoned. Over eight years, Sanjay contributed significantly to TV Channel branding working on Promos, Idents, Openers etc, earning accolades for his work. In 2011, he returned to Mumbai to establish his own studio specializing in Vfx. Financial commitments led him back to Dubai in 2013, dedicating a decade to Alarabiya News Channel.
Beyond his professional journey, Sanjay is a voracious reader with interests in Philosophy, Technology, Ancient History, Spirituality, and Meta Physics. His creative spirit thrives on a deep appreciation for painting, music, dance and crafting meaningful stories.
"The Stranger," Sanjay's first independent film, is slated for festival screening in 2024. As the writer, director, editor and Vfx artist, he navigated challenges, balancing job responsibilities, family commitments, and self-reliance on almost everything in post-production. The film marks a triumph over adversity and a testament to Sanjay's commitment to his cinematic dreams.
