Sixten Sundling(1926-1986)

Sixten Sundling was born on April 21, 1926 to father Erik Sundling and
mother Hanna Zetterberg. He moved with his family to Njurunda in
Sundsvall, Sweden when he was 5 years old in 1931. By the time Sixten
was 9 years old, his brother Sven had got a accordion and when Sven
wasn't around, Sixten used to play on it behind his brother's back.
Soon he got his own accordion and started playing in school with it, he
was an excellent music student and by the time he was 15, he started
playing and local dance clubs. He met his future wife, Elsy, when he
was 18 and she was 16 and they became a couple. After having their son,
Kjell, who was born in 1946, they married on May 11, 1947. Sixten spent
many years playing music and taking care of his family, and in 1953,
they welcomed their second son Ingvar. When Sixten's sons grow up, he
spent much time with them doing sports like ice hockey, skiing and
running. And when he had time left, Sixten played music along with his
oldest son Kjell who played guitar while his youngest son Ingvar spent
his days doing sports. His wife Elsy became a home wife but was
impressed of their energy for so many things. Sixten got together his
own orchestral around 1960 till 1972. Suddenly things changed in
Sixten's life, he divorced his long time wife Elsy on May 29, 1974 and
left his family. He continued playing music but got sick in 1976 and
had to stop working. Although he got sick, he played more and more
music than ever and played in different bands and played a lot of folk
music. On the day of his death, August 9 in 1986, he played a concert
and fell down on the stage with the accordion in his hands in front of
his oldest son Kjell. He died on August 9, 1986 at age 60.
