• Variety Zac Efron possibly joining headliner Hugh Jackman in the new Pt Barnum movie musical The Greatest Showman on Earth
• Universal Studios Wicked, the movie has a release date. More on this tomorrow
• Playbill Tony Kushner writing an adaptation of West Side Story for a remake by Steven Spielberg! Since that's my favorite movie of all time I feel very weird about this. Strangely the article stays that Kushner is "currently adapting the screenplay of August Wilson's Pulitzer-winning drama Fences" which would be really bad news for the movie since it's already done filming ;)
• My New Plaid Pants ...reacts to the news with a shout out to Pt Barnum look-alike Jim Broadbent
• THR The British Independent Film Awards, which helped Ex Machina along last awards season, and are adding award categories this year will try a new system to coincide with what voters have seen and where there are conflicts of interest.

A&E Network is turning on the Southern charm — reality style. The network announced today that The Governor’s Wife will debut on February 27. Produced by Leftfield Prods, the company behind History’s Pawn Stars, as well as Sss Entertainment, the 12-episode series follows 85-year-old former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards and his 34-year-old wife Trina and their life in the New South. The couple met as pen pals when Edwards was serving 8 1/2 years behind bars for bribery and extortion; they married when he was released. The marriage, as the series suggests, is not one all of Edwards’ family is happy with — especially his daughters, who are almost twice their new stepmom’s age. Leftfield’s Brent Montgomery, David George, Dominick Pupa and Shaun Sanghani are executive producers along with A&E’s David McKillop, Elaine Frontain Bryant, Drew Tappon and Devon Graham.

The A-List: New York's Reichen Lehmkuhl
In our parent company Logo's new reality show The A-List: New York, a “docu-soap” about the lives and loves of six social-climbing gay men, there’s a scene where Reichen Lehmkuhl is about to have sex with his boyfriend in a hot tub.
“Oops,” says the boyfriend, Brazilian model Rodiney Santiago, as he slips his swimsuit off.
But just as things are really steaming up, Reichen’s cellphone rings. When he climbs out of the tub to answer it, it turns out it’s Austin Armacost, one of the other A-List-ers – the guy that the show has clearly telegraphed is going to try to come between Reichen and Rodiney over the course of the season.
Austin tells Reichen he wants them to go out to dinner, even as Rodiney sits stewing in the hot tub.
