Lane Kiffin's new offensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic isn't old enough to have a mid-life crisis. He's 24 years old ... and he's Charlie Weis' son. Charlie Weis Jr. is expected to follow in his dad's footsteps and become a big time football coach. He's already got a bunch of experience -- he was an offensive analyst at Alabama from 2015-16 and was a volunteer intern for the Patriots in 2014. His dad got a massive...

When Catherine Conti takes to the field for the Kansas and Southeast Missouri college football game, she will become the first female to officiate a Big 12 match-up.
Big 12 Gets First Female Official
Conti’s hiring, according to Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby, has nothing to do with her gender. Rather, Conti has been bumped up to the conference due to her past performances as an official. Furthermore, Bowlsby stated that having a woman as part of an official crew will largely go unnoticed.
"She's a darn good official," Bowlsby said, according to Fox Sports. "It's a good opportunity for her and for us. And I don't think you'll really notice much about how the officiating is done on the game."
University of Kansas coach Charlie Weis is unconcerned about Conti helping to officiate his squad’s game against Southeast Missouri. He did, however, suggest he feels obligated to behave more respectfully...

In addition to some possibly musical genes, it appears that athleticism runs in the Bongiovi family.
Jesse Bongiovi, son of rocker Jon Bon Jovi (real name John Bongiovi Jr.), has made the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team as a walk-on cornerback. And coach Brian Kelly, who took the Irish to the national title game last January, says it has nothing to do with famous father.
"Jesse has earned his spot on the 105," Kelly tells USA Today. "He's a tough kid. The kids really like him. They respect him. They don't look at him as a rockstar's son. They look at him as a kid that loves Notre Dame and wants to play football and help this team. He's had a good summer."
"I'm a huge fan of Bon Jovi," Kelly continues. "Didn't have to have his son to make that apparent. He had a reputation here. I think Charlie Weis,...

TMZ may reign supreme in the world of entertainment (or at least be the first site to report on some of the biggest scoops), but not TMZ founder Harvey Levin is turning his eye to the wide world of sports.
Warner Brothers has registered TMZSports.com as the domain for the new TMZ Sports site. Question is, will the site's focus be on the scandalous lives of sports stars (such as infamous adulterer Tiger Woods) or be a true sports site, focusing more on the game?
According to Sports by Brooks, TMZ Sports sounds more like a sports gossip site than anything else.
So why is Levin is starting TMZSports.com? If you have to ask that question, this must be your first visit to SbB.
Look at Espn. With the majority of our only truly national sports network’s revenue derived from contractual agreements to broadcast NFL, Mlb, NBA...

Things are not going well for Notre Dame head football coach Charlie Weis. He's in the midst of a rough season, not likely to make a bowl game, and rumors are rampant that he will be fired after a five-year-term that has not brought the university a national championship. The number one name on the lips of everyone to replace Weis is Espn analyst, and Super Bowl-winning head coach, Jon Gruden. However, this morning Espn locked up Gruden with an extension on his current contract which expands his responsibilities as an Espn talking head.
In addition to sticking with the Espn Monday Night Football color commentary role -- in which he's pretty much been Mr. Enthusiasm -- Gruden will be working the NFL Draft, the Pro Bowl, Super Bowl week, and on radio the Rose Bowl and the Bcs game. Basically, if Gruden is talking football, he's doing it on Espn air.

Another week, another entertaining episode of Vampire Diaries.
As always, our staff has returned for an edition of the Round Table, where we sit and discuss a series of storylines, developments and quotes from the most recent installment.
Readers are encouraged to chime in with their opinions on the issues below, as we tackle the episode "Friday Night Bites." Let's get right to it...
Are you on Team Jeremy or Team Tyler?
VDLover: Jeremy, obvi! It's clear that Tyler only cares about Vicki because it either pisses Jeremy off or because she's attractive. But, even though we didn't see them together this summer, it's equally clear that Jeremy and Vicki have an actual bond. I have no idea why she's wasting her time with Tyler.
DoMeDamon: Neither. Bros before hos, fellas. You should never fight over a woman.
ElenaLova: Team Tyler. For the alliteration. And because I kinda feel sorry for him.
