Francesco Juilland is the president together with his partner Freddy
Braidy of Cameo-FJ Entertainment, a production company located in Los
Angeles, California. Francesco is the son of Emy and Joseph Juilland,
one of the most respected families in the publishing industry in
Europe, specializing in the publication of art and history books and
magazines in Switzerland, Italy and France. His family was the first
people in Switzerland to publish an educational, entertainment and
cultural magazine aimed at the general reader and distributed in all
the schools of the Country. Supporters and publishers of the Democratic
Party, the Juillands published the Swiss Constitution, wrote the
History of Switzerland, financed seven newspapers and created a
literary and art prize in Italy. Founders of the Swiss Cultural Center
in Milan near the La Scala theater, knowledgeable art collectors all
the while continuing in the family tradition of wine making in their
wineries in Switzerland. On August 2003 his family had early commitment
and dedication as a Charter Member of the campaign in California of
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver. Francesco
Juilland is making a name for himself in the entertainment industry
thanks to his passion for cinema and his profound understanding of the
film industry. He resides in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California.
Francesco Juilland is building his career working together with his
partners and sisters: Maria Antonella Juilland, producer, and Paola
Juilland COO and executive producer in charge of production that in
business are hard as nails and focused. Antonella and Paola use work in
the side of Francesco and are 100% percent behind him and the company.
Francesco, Paola and Antonella Juilland together with Freddy Braidy
care about what they are doing, they work very hard and they really
love movies. Francesco Juilland graduated with honors in Law and
Theology in Milan, Italy, and has received a BA "cum Laude" in
Political Science from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He has
also received a Certificate in Entertainment at UCLA in Los Angeles. He
began his career as a journalist and film critic in Switzerland
(Lugano) and is still a member of the Swiss Journalist Board. In 1987
he co-founded with his father and his mother the Film Production
Enterprise Iguana. The company produced the critically acclaimed film
"Iguana", directed by Monte Hellman, one of the most talented directors
of the Seventies in Hollywood. The movie was selected as a Special
Event at the Venice Film Festival in 1988. Francesco Juilland has
worked on several films as an assistant director in Italy and in the
U.S. He has been working as an executive in charge of acquisitions at
Eurostar International of Christina Haller and Green Communication EIRE
a satellite company of the media giant Mediaset. During his tenure he
acquired such films as "A Better Tomorrow 1 and 2", "Hard Boiled",
"Savage Nights" and "The Lawnmower Man". In 1996 he produced "Homer:
Portrait of the Artist in His Old Days" directed by Fabio Carpi. The
movie won the David di Donatello (Italian Film Award) for Best
Screenplay in 1997. In 1997 he worked for Trinidad Films-Rome (Bud
Spencer and Terence Hill movies). Also in 1997 he started working as an
executive producer for Greencube and Mediacube, two of the top five
European commercial production companies. In 1998 Francesco Juilland
and Giorgio Prandoni co-founded Mediacube USA, Inc. a film production
company and a visual effects service provider in USA, Europe and in
Italy. Giorgio Prandoni is a leading figure and heir to the most
prestigious industrialist dynasty in the design and manufacture of
radio equipment and multi standard television sets in Italy. (His
father was Dario Prandoni the luminary owner of Prandoni S.p.A. one of
Europe's most highly regarded electronic companies; Dario Prandoni
formed the basis of the Prandoni Empire and Giorgio Prandoni sells the
company in France to Thomson with a big one deal). During his tenure
from 1998 to February 2002 as Mediacube's CEO Francesco Juilland has
created important joint venture between Mediacube USA, Inc. and
important European, American and Canadian companies. He also brokered
the acquisition of a share of Minerva Pictures (Italy) they own a
library of more than 1,500 titles of which 850 are for worldwide rights
in perpetuity. The titles include classics works by Pasolini, Germi,
Bellocchio, Godard, Fellini, Antonioni and others. Most recently in
2000, Francesco Juilland was elected in the Board of Directors of Ionic
WW Studios, a fully digital Hollywood studio organized and financed by
Mediacube as Major Investor together with Giorgio Prandoni and Javier
Rodriguez, Spanish businessman and scion of an important and
conservative Family of Spain full of history and tradition and thank to
the greenlight of a guardian angel like the economist Mr. Diego
Colombo, chairman of the Colombo Group with offices in Switzerland and
around the world and longtime serious advisor of the Juilland family
office. Francesco Juilland is in the Board of Directors with the man
that he considers his American mentor Mike Medavoy (producer, former
chairman of Tristar Pictures and a legendary "Hollywood industry hero"
as Fox News channel calls him, many times Oscars winner, his movies
including the masterpieces Apocalypse Now, Philadelphia, Dance with
wolves, Who flew over the Cuckoo's nest, Annie Hall, Platoon, Rocky,
the Sting, Silence of the lambs, Amadeus, The Terminator, Sleepless in
Seattle) and Norman Pattiz (called from "USA Today" and "LA Times" The
Ted Turner of the radio) and Arnold Messer (president of Phoenix
Pictures, company producer of Larry Flint, The thin red line, U-Turn,
The 6th Day, Basic, Holes, Stealth, All the King's men), together with
David Hayden and Gigi Pritzker (film producer with Deborah del Prete of
"the Wedding Planner" with Jennifer Lopez). Francesco Juilland is a
distributor too in Switzerland with his father Joseph and their partner
heir of a historical political family of Vietnam, Maurice Nguyen (now
Swiss art cinemas owner), they distributed the last movies of director
Manoel De Oliveira (A Talking Picture), of the actor Michael Douglas
(The In-Laws), of Lucy Liu and Antonio Banderas (Ballistic) and of
Chevy Chase and Brooke Shields (Rent a husband). Juilland has already
realized thanks to his strategic partnerships in USA post production
for the HBO disaster movies "Firetrap", "Epicenter", "Flying Virus"
with the "twist talented" and "explosive" producers George Shamieh and
Chevonne O'Shaughnessy; and VFX for Warner Brothers for the horror
"Feardotcom" and for Paramount the action movie "ExtremOps" (Mark
Damon); for Steven Paul (in the Guinness Book of World Records and
partner of John Voight) and for his company "Baby Geniuses II"; and for
H. Michael Heuser, President and CEO of Storm Entertainment. In
addition to having been Executive Producer/Producer of over 25 films,
Mr. Heuser is currently producing "Preacher", for which Francesco
Juilland and his family have arranged to provide the epic VFX. Juilland
worked as consultant for the successfully company Interactive (Italy)
that has as chairman and president, Mr. Bruno Bogarelli, former founder
of La Cinq and historical partner of the Italian Premier Silvio
Berlusconi. In 2003 Juilland created a production company with his
partner Freddy Braidy: Cameo FJ Entertainment. They will produce
together 8 movies in 2004-2006 with their company Cameo FJ Ent.
Together with Freddy Braidy, Francesco Juilland has produced in 2003
the movie "Retrograde". Plus Francesco Juilland thanks to a lifetime
business friendship with the producer and distributor Gianluca Curti,
chairman of Gruppo Minerva, Italy, together with Freddy Braidy is the
associate producer of the movie "The heart is deceitful above all
things" directed by the Italian actress Asia Argento: the premiere was
"sold out" in Cannes 2004. Francesco Juilland and Freddy Braidy through
their company Cameo-FJ Ent. are the producers of the movie "Victims"
starring Jesse Bradford (Swimfan, Romeo+Juliet) and Sienna Guillory
(Love Actually); the associate producers of the movie "The World's
fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins (2005) and the producers of the
romantic comedy "Bottom's up" with Paris Hilton, that here is a kind of
new Marilyn Monroe, with Jason Mewes (Scary Movie), David Keith
(Daredevil), Jon Abrahms (Meet the parents), Nicholle Tom (The Princess
diaries), Matt Davis (Pearl Harbor, Blue Crush, Leggally Blonde), with
"the fast and the furious" Paul Walker and with writer/director Kevin
Smith in a cameo role (2006). Francesco Juilland and Freddy Braidy will
be the producers of the movie "Blue Valentine" (just announced)
together with Frank Scherma, president of radical@media and producer of
"The Cell" starring Jennifer Lopez and directed by Tarsem.
