In the previous episode of The Clearing, Adrienne’s transformative journey and the emergence of her cult, The Kindred, took center stage. However, in this episode, the narrative shifted back to the timeline where Freya Haywood, aka Amy, was determined to uncover the truth behind Carrie Anderson’s kidnapping. Freya had harbored reservations about her brother Anton, and her suspicions intensified when she noticed a van similar to the one associated with the abduction of Carrie. However, Inspector Joe Saad was initially reluctant to believe Anton could be involved. In this episode, Amy relentlessly searched for concrete evidence regarding the true kidnapper’s identity, but her quest for the truth could be a perilous journey for her as well as her family.

The previous episode of The Clearing revealed a series of mysteries surrounding Amy, also known as Freya, and her family history. We were introduced to Maxine, Freya’s daughter, who was abandoned by her mother when she was very young. Amy’s decision to escape the cult she was part of ended up aiding the police in their investigation of the cult. However, capturing Adrienne, the cult leader, proved to be difficult for investigator Joe Saad because she had managed to go into hiding. The police did find the children and arrested supervisor Henrik and his wife for their involvement in kidnapping those children. Tamsin, another member of the cult, managed to escape and avoid capture by the police, resulting in the dissolution of the cult. Despite the cult disbanding, Adrienne continued to secretly expand her influence with the help of one of her followers, Anton.

Previously in The Clearing, we were introduced to a teenage girl named Amy, who assisted in the abduction of a little girl named Sara and transported her to a secret location where a cult was active. The cult was founded by a middle-aged lady named Adrienne, who arrived there shortly with her secretary, Dr. Latham. In a different timeline, probably in the future, Amy had grown up to be a young mother named Freya, who was protecting her son Billy. Hearing of another abduction, Freya feared the cult’s involvement in it. A surprising twist revealed that Freya, aka Amy, was still taking care of the cult leader, Adrienne, who had significantly aged and become ill.

A new mystery thriller from Hulu called The Clearing features a fictionalized version of the Family, a real-life new-age cult founded by Anne Hamilton-Byrne. Based on the book by J. P. Pomare, the television series The Clearing is about a cult that Adrienne, also known as Maitrya, is setting up, in which she coerces her followers into thinking that Adrienne is a supernatural person. However, the plot also focuses on a single mother, Freya Heywood, who seems to have a strange connection with this cult, leaving her always worried that her son would be taken away by them.

Showtime’s new psychological thriller Homeland stars Claire Danes as C.I.A. operations officer Carrie Anderson. Driven beyond conventional operational standards, Carrie was once a rising star in the C.I.A., but ever since her unauthorised field operation in Iraq went bust, she has been serving probation in the counter-terrorism centre in Langley. The last thing she learned in Iraq was that an American prisoner of war had been turned. Ten months later, the prisoner in question, U.S. Marine Sergeant Nicolas Brody (co-star Damian Lewis) is liberated by American forces and returned home, having spent eight years in an Al Qaeda prison. Once again Carrie’s obsession takes over, believing Brody to be her turned Pow, she sets up an illegal surveillance of his home.

Showtime drove home a winner with tonight’s Homeland series premiere. Claire Danes captivated viewers as a Carrie Anderson, a CIA officer with a “mild” case of schizophrenia, while Damian Lewis’ poignant portrayal of a conflicted Pow was worthy of a feature film performance. Fans of AMC’s prematurely cancelled Rubicon series will delight in this new conspiracy tale that promises several intriguing twists, great writing and methodical pacing. Director Michael Cuesta did a terrific job of bringing to life this new series. The Pilot began in Baghdad, Iraq. Carrie bribes her way into prison to talk with a prisoner who allegedly has information regarding an attack on Us soil. As I type this, I can only imagine the amount of red flags that go up in government computers. Although Homeland features a Counter Terrorist Unit, Homeland viewers should not expect the same Jack Bauer type stunts witnessed on 24. As...

Homeland is the best new show of the year, and its pilot was definitely one of the best season premieres of the fall.
Anchored by stunning lead performances from Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, this CIA-based Showtime series has everything you could ask for and more in regards to interesting characters, intriguing story lines, and edge-of-your seat suspense.
The most intriguing characters, of course, come courtesy of the performances from Danes and Lewis. The former plays Carrie Anderson, a fantastic CIA agent, who causes herself more trouble than anyone would like to admit. The latter is Sergeant Nicholas Brody, a former American Prisoner of War returning home, who seems to have been turned by terrorist leader Abu Nazir during his time abroad.
Danes is so good in this first episode at revealing to the audience who Carrie is, without letting go all of the character's secrets. She seems to be pretty brilliant.

Homeland Season 1 Episode 1 Pilot Review. Homeland: Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot answers the 2011 Showtime TV show’s central question around the mid-point of the episode. That central question is whether or not Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) has been “turned” by his eight year Iraqi captors, specifically Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban).
I believe this was a major fault of the new series by answering this question so quickly. I might have been better to maintain the question and the mystery for a few more episodes or possibly all the way up to the last episode of the first season.
Now its a question of when and where the CIA will find out the answer to this question and how they will come about it.
The use of flashbacks is very good in the series, one of its strongest points. What is shrouded in mystery, usually the past, is made clear through them.

Showtime’s psychological thriller Homeland has booked Brianna Brown for a guest starring role that could possibly become recurring. She uses her good looks and intelligence to secure a safe future for herself. You can’t get much safer than working your way into the life of a prince. No judgment from me on how she uses her sexuality.
Brown is best known for playing Dr. Lisa Niles on ABC’s General Hospital. Morena Baccarin proves you can’t keep a sexy, evil, alien commander down as Deadline brings word that she’ll be joining the cast of Showtime’s Homeland, while fans of ABC’s V are still reeling from the cancellation of the good-but-too-slow sci-fi show.

I guess this means there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that “V” is coming back for a third season? It would appear not, especially if the female lead is already moving on to a new show. In this case, former “Firefly” and “V” gal Morena Baccarin has moved away from the sci-fi genre that used to define her career, and will be entering the thriller/espionage arena with Showtime’s upcoming “Homeland”. Baccarin will play Jessica Brody, the wife of returnee Pow Damian Lewis on the show. She will be replacing Scottish actress Laura Fraser, who played the character in the pilot. I’m guessing when showrunners Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa realized Baccarin was suddenly available and looking for work, they took the opportunity to replace the little known Fraser with a slightly more known Baccarin. “Homeland” stars Claire Danes as Carrie Anderson, a CIA officer...

Sci-fi fans shed an extra tear when ABC recently pulled the plug on its alien invasion remake V. The extra bawling was because they would no longer see the stunning Brazilian actress Morena Baccarin as the vicious alien leader Anna. These same fans cheered when Deadline reported today that the brunette beauty joined Showtime's new CIA thriller Homeland, from 24 executive producers Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa. Baccarin joined the series as Jessica Brody, the smart wife to Marine Sergeant Scott Brody (Damian Lewis) who returns home after eight years missing in Iraq and raises the suspicion of CIA officer Carrie Anderson (Claire Danes).

Showtime's kicking it up a notch with its new series, 'Homeland.' The political thriller starring Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin and Damian Lewis tells the story of an American Pow who is rescued from the Middle East ... but was he released intentionally?
In this new trailer, Danes' character, Carrie Anderson works diligently to put her suspicions at ease. Was Scott Brody (Lewis) released for a reason? Has he been turned against the U.S.?
'Homeland' comes from '24' executive producer Howard Gordon and is based on the Israeli TV series 'Prisoners of War.'
This marks Danes' return to series TV, her first since 'My So-Called Life.' The actress recently picked up a slew of awards, including an Emmy, for her work in HBO's 'Temple Grandin.'

Exclusive: Helmer Michael Cuesta, who directed the pilot for Showtime's newly picked up drama Homeland, is joining the series as an executive producer. This marks the second consecutive pilot directed by Cuesta to go to series following CBS' Blue Bloods last year. And this is the second time Cuesta is producing a series. He previously served as a co-executive producer on another Showtime drama, Dexter, whose pilot he also directed. On thriller Homeland, based on Gideon Raff's Israeli series Prisoners of War, Wme-repped Cuesta will serve as an executive producer alongside the project's writers Howard Gordon, Raff and Alex Gansa as well as Avi Nir and Ron Telem. The series centers on Carrie Anderson (Claire Danes), a CIA officer battling her own demons who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to the rescue of Scott Brody (Damian Lewis), a U.S. soldier who had been missing and presumed deal for nine years,...

[1] We have a three-and-a-half-minute first look at Showtime's new series Homeland, which the network picked up last week for 12 episodes. The thriller stars Claire Danes as CIA agent Carrie Anderson, who begins to suspect that the recent rescue of longtime Pow Scott Brody (Damian Lewis) is actually one piece in a larger terrorist plot by al Qaeda. The always welcome Mandy Patinkin also stars, as Anderson's boss/mentor Saul Berenson. Watch the clip after the jump. [via Deadline [2]] Danes may be overdoing it a bit with the intensity here, though it's possible she'll look more natural once we see the clip in context. She's usually a pretty solid actress, and I have to give her credit for stretching her skills over the course of her career. Homeland's Anderson looks nothing like Temple Grandin, who was nothing like Igby Goes Down's Sookie, Romeo + Juliet's Juliet, or My So-Called Life's Angela.

Mandy Patinkin ("Criminal Minds") costars as Anderson's mentor, a veteran CIA Division Chief.
The one-hour drama goes into production this summer and there's no word from the network on a premiere date at this time.

Showtime has offered up a sneak preview of the newly ordered drama "Homeland," featuring Claire Danes, Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin. The preview, mostly two extended clips focusing on Danes' CIA officer Carrie Anderson, lays out the "Homeland" premise pretty clearly: A military raid in the Middle East leads to the rescue of a long-missing American Pow (Lewis). Anderson, though, has reason to fear that the hero may actually be part of an Al Qaeda plot. Paranoia ensues. "Homeland" was adapted from the Israeli format "Prisoners of War" by Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and original creator Gideon Raff. ...
