Briony McRoberts, a Scottish actress who was married to "Downton Abbey" star David Robb, has taken her own life at the age of 56, reports the BBC. Her body was found on the tracks at Fulham Broadway station just after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday (July 17).
"It's just a terrible, terrible loss of a wonderful woman," says McRoberts' agent Kate Threlfall. "She was a wonderful woman who had troubles and she will be very much missed. She was so well-loved and was the most vibrant character you could hope to meet. It is just a tragedy."
McRoberts' best known screen credit in the U.S. was as Margo Fassbender in the 1976 movie "The Pink Panther Strikes Again." In the U.K., she also appeared on series "Take the High Road" and "Bachelor Father." She was also known in England as a gifted stage actress. She and Robb did not have any children.
