Twitter is finalising preparations for its Australian office with a team of senior executives in Australia this week for a second round of high-level “meet and greets”.
The Twitter executive team, includes some of the company’s leading executives, are not only meeting with top-level industry figures from media and sporting organisations but is also rumoured to be interviewing for key Australian appointments ahead of its opening later this year.
The trip is the second visit by members of the social media giant to Australia in just three months and comes only a week after Prime Minister Julia Gillard called on the company to be more active against cyber bullying in Australia.

CBS Corp. has lured a Google ad sales executive to a key post.
The company has named Patrick Keane executive vp, chief marketing officer for its new CBS Interactive division, it said Wednesday.
Keane will help CBS with marketing on new platforms as well as bring in new advertisers, a responsibility he held during his four-year stint at Google.
"Patrick is widely considered an industry expert in online distribution and marketing, and his transition to an audience company like CBS is a testament to our commitment to partner with technology companies worldwide," CBS Interactive president Quincy Smith said.
Keane was head of advertising sales strategy at Google, where he was responsible for developing and managing the strategic plans and relationships critical to growing Google's advertising customer base.
In addition to working on CBS Interactive's sales strategy, Keane will manage efforts in online research, reporting and analytics as well as competitive research, sales training and search engine optimization.
