The BBC is marking the 30 anniversary of its Ukrainian-speaking service as the Russian invasion of the country continues. On June 1, 1992, the BBC started short- and medium-wave radio broadcasts for then newly independent Ukraine. Today, BBC News Ukraine operates via website bbc.ua, its YouTube channel, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Telegram, TikTok and Viber. The BBC News Ukraine Monday to Friday TV news program is rebroadcast by Ukraine’s national TV channels Espreso, Priamyj and 5 Kanal.
The Ukrainian service was the BBC’s first non-Russian language service for the post-Soviet states. Initially based in London, with correspondents in Ukraine, the service then moved to digital platforms, primarily delivered from Kyiv. Its TV news program is produced in and presented from London. Since Feb. 24, when Russia invaded, the BBC News Ukraine TV news bulletin has been extended from 15 to 30 minutes.

David Letterman’s Emmy-nominated talk show series “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman” is set to return on May 20, Netflix announced on Thursday.
The fourth season of the Netflix original series will feature six episodes and a new selection of guests, including Cardi B, Kevin Durant, Billie Eilish, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ryan Reynolds and Will Smith.
The show features one-on-one conversations with the legendary talk show host and the celebrity guest inside and outside a studio setting. Season four comes after a long absence from the series, as season three premiered almost 18 months ago in October of 2020.
Notably, the streamer has announced that all of the episodes were filmed prior to March 2022; that means that there will be no talk of the infamous Will Smith-Chris Rock Oscars slap that occurred on March 27.

Utah is going to get a booty-full dose of Miami this January. "Life and Freaky Times of Uncle Luke," a short by local indie film outfit Borscht, was selected for the Sundance Film Festival's 2012 Short Film Program. It joins 31 shorts from the U.S. chosen from over 4,000 submissions.
In the film, Luther Campbell, the former 2 Live Crew frontman and recent Miami mayoral candidate, revolutionizes hip-hop, fights for first amendment rights, and launches Miami into a golden era as mayor. A working cut of the film screened last April at the 2011 Borscht Film Festival at the Arsht Center's packed Knight Concert Hall.
The film's narrative peaks when South Florida's Turkey Point nuclear plant explodes, turning Miami into a radioactive wasteland. Uncle Luke must use his booty bass powers to save the city using old-fashioned methods of repopulation. It's a very Miami twist on the 1962 French science fiction short "La Jetee," which also inspired "12 Monkeys.
