Benny Benassi Presents the Biz (Fan Video) Planet of the Apes Party Fun Time from Bradley Hasse on Vimeo.
We went bananas when we saw this. An enterprising video editor named Bradley Haase has revisited the original "Planet of the Apes" and concocted a hilarious music video based on the premise of an Ape Dance Party, complete with vinyl records and glitzy disco decor. It's too bizarre to describe. Just watch it. If you don't share our sense of amusement, then in the words of Charlton Heston's Taylor, "Damn you all to hell!"...

"You aren't trying hard enough, Maxwell!" Gravitas Ventures has released an official trailer for Songs for a Sloth, the feature debut of music video director Bradley Hasse. On the verge of a major breakdown, Maxwell meets a talking sloth in his dreams (voiced by Jack McBrayer) and becomes obsessed with saving the animal's habitat in his waking life by returning to his first passion of music. He devises a crazy scheme to make a music for a sloth fundraiser. The indie dramedy stars Richard Hollman, Ava Eisenson, Brian McCarthy, with Arian Moayad. Thankfully this looks as wacky and weird as it sounds, and there doesn't even seem to be any live sloths in it, just this goofy puppet one. Huh. Might be a fun watch? Or not so fun... Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Bradley Hasse's Songs for a Sloth, direct from YouTube: On the edge of a nervous breakdown,...

Everyone loves sloths, right? The things that make them strange (their slow movements and their unique looks) are the same things that make people think they’re so damn adorable. But what would you think if a sloth talked to you and told you to do something with your life? Well, that’s the kind of kick in the butt that happens in “Songs for a Sloth.”

Gramatik is known for lush, big beats that don't come near the pop-house or "dubstep" tunes dominating today's dance music community. Instead, the Slovenian-born producer focuses on rhythms and arrangements that incorporate the best parts of countless genres -- house, breakbeat, techno, electro, blues, jazz, soul, funk, drum 'n' bass -- and tosses them together in a thoughtful blend that's perhaps only rivaled by his mentor and label boss, Pretty Lights.
Like Pretty Lights, Gramatik releases his music for free. His new Ep is entitled #digitalfreedom, a banner of sorts for the type of relationship he has with the work he creates. At Gramatik's live shows, the emphasis is on feeling the music, with little in the way of pomp and circumstance. Just a man, a lot of machines and a really big sound.
"Solidified," a track off #digitalfreedom tickled the fancy of director Brad Hasse, who had wanted to...

We always knew there were a few musical references in the 1968 dystopian classic "Planet of the Apes," but we admittedly never thought to turn the dark film into an energetic party anthem. Thankfully, we have the Internet.
Brad Hasse (with the help of Ep*Vision) saw the headphones and record players and took the film to its (il)logical extreme: an electro remix reconfiguring the apes as dancers and Charlton Heston as a glowstick-wearing raver.
Video editing and remixing is already in "Been there, done that" territory, but Haase's combination of remixing and graphics insertion form a new template for others to follow.
It's a hard sell on paper, but hysterical in practice. Oh the modern age.
