- Is an artist as was her mother who passed away in 2017. She works in clay, oils, and encaustic.
- Came from a family of 4. She has 7 children (3 step, 3 adopted, and 1 surprise) but has raised several who have come into her home through the years. She has said that parenting has been her first love and her biggest mission was to raise responsible, happy people.
- splits her time between LA, Nashville, and Montana ...the latter is where her new series project is set (2018). (2017)

- Now divorced, she took several years off of filmmaking after her 2005 film to hibernate and write. Spent the earlier part of her career working in casting and as a script reader which eventually led to being a "script-fixer". Always having to preferred to write her projects alone, she chose to bring in two co-writers to collaborate on the rewriting of her original project, Mahans of Montana, which eventually became the series Three Forks.
