Fox Searchlight Pictures has debuted a new clip from Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life , starring Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Jessica Chastain, Joanna Going, Jackson Hurst, Fiona Shaw, Crystal Mantecon, Tamara Jolaine, Hunter McCracken and Dustin Allen. The Tree of Life , coming to theaters on May 27, is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950's. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Sneak Peek the new poster supporting writer/director Terrence Malick's upcoming Fox Searchlight feature "The Tree Of Life.
"The Tree Of Life" stars Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain.
According to Malick, the 1950's period piece follows "...a Texas boy's journey from the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as a lost soul in the modern world..."
"...We trace the evolution of eleven-year-old 'Jack', one of three brothers. At first all seems marvelous to the child. He sees as his mother does with the eyes of his soul. She represents the way of love and mercy, where the father tries to teach his son the world’s way of putting oneself first. Each parent contends for his allegiance, and Jack must reconcile their claims. The picture darkens as he has his first glimpses of sickness, suffering and death. The world, once a thing of glory, becomes a labyrinth.

The Tree Of Life opens on May 27th. I know you already know what we’re talking about, and I’m sure you’re happy to hear that Terrence Malick‘s project is coming soon. So today we’re here to have a little chat about this quite interesting drama that, by the way, has an awesome cast – Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain.
Ok, the release date is May 27th, but according to IMDb, people in France will have a chance to see it first, on May 18th, 2011. So, we could talk about a premiere of The Tree Of Life at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which will run from May 11-22 …? Of course, we don’t know it yet but still, we hope.
And that’s not all, because, thanks to guys from TheFilmStage, we now have even 72 new images from the movie to share with you!

Exit Smash, enter Jason Street. Both Gaius Charles and Scott Porter were only signed for a handful of episodes each this year with the promise that their characters would be given fitting exits from the show. It now looks like we’ll be getting one goodbye story after the other, even if Jason’s story is so far all about staying put. He’s currently a part-time dad, struggling to make ends meet selling cars in order to provide a home for his new baby and the mother of his child. Or at least that’s what he thinks. Erin (Tamara Jolaine) seemed unsure about having the baby in the first place. With that issue clearly resolved she still seems fence-y about the relationship. Cold barely covers the goodbye she gives Jason along with the vague promise that he could come visit his son out East whenever he likes. Is Jason being delusional.
