“Big Papi” David Ortiz blasted the Red Sox right back into Sunday night’s Game 2 on Fox — Jarrod Saltalamacchia finished the Detroit Tigers off. It was a classic Boston playoff win. At SportsOlogy, we write about the Washington Nationals' Bryce Harper quite a bit. We even have an entire section of our site devoted to the astonishing talent and brashness that is Bryce Harper. And why wouldn't we?
But on the other coast, the La Angels' Mike Trout has been equally impressive, even if he's gone about his business far quieter than Harper.
The 19-year-old Harper and the 20-year-old Trout are the two best and most exciting rookie tandem to enter Major League Baseball together since two young shortstops -- a 22-year-old Derek Jeter and a 20-year-old Alex Rodriguez -- played their first full seasons for the Yankees and Mariners in 1996.
Mike Trout
The beginning of the big league careers of Mike Trout and Bryce Harper have been remarkably similar to one another.
Trout has played in 40 games for the Angels, seeing time at all three outfield positions, and he's affected games in almost every possible.

Hey kids? Can you come in here a minute? Southland and I need to talk to you.
We know you guys really miss Steven Frank. We miss him too. But Steven has a family of his own to look after and other responsibilities, so he isn't able to recap Southland any more. Now this doesn't mean he doesn't miss you or that he loves you any less.
With Steven stepping back, AfterElton has asked me to step in. I know I won't be able to fill Steven's tremendous shoes but I hope I can do the show and its fans good enough service.
In last week's season 4 premiere we were introduced to two new regulars: Officer Jessica Tang (Lucy Liu), Officer John “Cuddlybear” Cooper's new partner who was tasked with evaluating his street readiness following his back surgery (and who had her own demon to overcome in the form of...

The Anaheim-based California Angels baseball team has seen its share of tragedy over the last 40 years, in the form of fatal car accidents, cancer, suicide and even murder. Most recently, promising young pitcher Nick Adenhart, the Angels third starter this season, was killed in a car crash. Teammate Torii Hunter described Adenhart as a very funny kid, and said he would be missed. Our hearts go out to Adenhart's family and to all the Angels fans out there who are, in their own way, devastated by his loss. But it's also a story of triumph and of a lifelong dream come true. We're glad Adenhart's father was able to see him throw one last time. He truly shined on the mound in his final game.
