His most revered author was Anne McCaffrey, who penned the Pern books and the Crystal Singer novels. He however attributes much of his influence to be from the strong women in his life, notably his mother and grandmother who are both deceased. His grandmother Edna Pearl Coleman lived to a ripe old age of 96 dying slightly before her 97th.
- While working at Hinton Animation, Jaime won a trip on the Concorde. This was a special event by British Airways called "Cheers to the U.K." In addition to flying to the arctic circle and picking up "Santa Claus", Jaime said he was most impressed by the 56000 foot flight altitude and the 1380 mph cruising speed.
