- Willy Redstone was a composer, known for The Rats of Tobruk (1944), The Flying Doctor (1936) and 40,000 Horsemen (1940). Willy died on September 30, 1949 in Sydney, Australia.
- Willy Redstone, nephew of French composer Charles Gounod, was born Wilhelm Rottenstein 1883 in Paris, France and studied music at the Paris Conservatoire. He conducted shows in Paris and London theaters before moving to Australia in 1922. He joined the Australian Broadcasting Company in 1932 and was its federal music editor from 1938. He died in Sydney 30 September 1949.
