General Hospital spoilers tease that Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) absence from Port Charles for the last two years has been addressed. As viewers know, Jason was apprehended by the FBI and taken to Quantico.
While there, John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) offered Jason a deal. Jason was to either work for FBI as an informant, or Cates would have Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) arrested and sent to prison for 20 years. As of this writing, Carly still has no idea the sacrifice Jason made for her.
General Hospital Spoilers – Steve Burton Has Some Insight!
There have been complaints that Jason sacrificed everything for Carly, including time with his two sons, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Jake Webber (Hudson West). But Burton didn’t agree with the complaints.

General Hospital Steve Burton Nearly Walked Off Show
Steve Burton has been a staple on General Hospital since the nineties. Despite a few breaks, fans have come to know him as Jason Morgan. Sadly, in 2021, he was let go from the hit soap opera for not complying with the network’s vaccine mandate. His character was killed off in a tunnel collapse but, as soap fans know, no one is ever really dead. Steve Burton is back on General Hospital where he belongs, but for how long? The actor addresses rumors about his contract. Keep reading to find out how long Jason Morgan will be in Port Charles this time.
Jason’s Return Rewritten
When Steve Burton was fired from General Hospital in 2021, no one expected him to ever return. The actor was fired for refusing to get vaccinated. Fellow star Ingo Rademacher filed a lawsuit against the network that’s still an on-going legal battle.
Steve Burton wasn’t involved in the lawsuit. He quickly found a job in another daytime drama. He joined Days of Our Lives as Harris Michaels, a role he previously played from 1988 to 1990. His return to Dool only lasted a year, but he wasn’t unemployed for long.
Just a day after his exit from Salem was announced, ABC dropped the shocking reveal that Steve Burton was returning as Jason Morgan.

Burton’s comments are in response to speculation on social media that he wouldn’t be staying long-term, specifically that he only signed a three-month deal.
“Obviously, they are going for clickbait because nothing they’re posting is even remotely true,” Burton pointed out to Anderson, his “General Hospital” co-star, who also recently returned to the show, albeit on a recurring basis, as Damian Spinelli.
“They said that I only signed a three-month contract, and then I’m dying,” said Burton, summarizing discussions across various Facebook fan groups about his status on the daytime drama series. “Hey, guess what? It’s a two-year contract,...

General Hospital spoilers for next week’s episodes of the ABC soap tease February sweeps go out with a bang.
The primary focus has been on who is after Sonny (Maurice Benard).
Everything is falling into place where Nina (Cynthia Watros) is concerned, and it’s driving Drew (Cameron Mathison) bananas. It has caused some tension between him and Carly (Laura Wright).
Pushing Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) together to reunite Spixie seems to be where things are going. They even brought back some very mediocre karaoke for the occasion. And there have also been hints about a possible rekindling of the heat between Sonny and Ava (Maura West).
As the police work to find the shooter after Sonny and Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) wedding draws near, expect more chaos in Port Charles.

Four Days of our Lives hunks have started a new band, The Day Players, and they are going on tour this fall.
Wally Kurth (Justin), Eric Martsolf (Brady), Brandon Barash (Stefan/Jake), and Carson Boatman (Johnny) have teamed up to make some music.
All of the guys have incredible talent. Wally’s talent has been featured on Days and General Hospital, as his character, Ned, was once a rockstar.
Brandon used to be in the band Port Chuck featuring his former General Hospital costars Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Steve Burton (ex-Jason), and Scott Reeves (ex-Steve).
As for Eric, he has sung at several Days of our Lives fan events over the years and released a few singles too.
Last but not least, Carson sang country music long before working in daytime television.

Residents of the fictional Port Charles mourned the (seeming) loss today of longtime General Hospital character Jason Morgan, as the ABC soap wrapped up the drama both onscreen and off in the wake of actor Steve Burton leaving the show over a Covid vaccine mandate.
In a tear-filled and flashback-heavy episode, various characters reacted to news that Burton’s Jason had perished in a tunnel collapse while attempting to rescue his long-lost brother Drew Cain (played by Cameron Mathison).
“I remember the first day he ever became my son,” said adoptive mother Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). “I”m not going to have any new memories of Jason, just remember the conversations that we had.”
Said Mathison’s Drew, “Now that we started to finally connect as brothers, he’s gone.”

Longtime General Hospital cast member Steve Burton is leaving the ABC show due to his refusal to comply with the production’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate.
Burton confirmed his long-rumored departure on Instagram today. “I know there’s been a lot of rumors and speculations about me and General Hospital and I wanted you to hear it from me personally,” he says in the video. “Unfortunately, General Hospital has let me go because of the vaccine mandate.”
Watch the video below.
Burton goes on to say he sought medical and religious exemptions to the mandate but was denied by the production on both counts. “Which, you know, hurts,” he says, “but this is also about personal freedom to me.” After expressing thanks to fans – noting that he practically grew up on the show – he says, “Maybe one day if these mandates are lifted, I can return and finish my career as Jason Morgan.

Covid and its real-life controversies have checked in to ABC’s General Hospital, seeming to spark a cast rift that’s playing out on social media and prompting star and vaccine mandate opponent Ingo Rademacher to lash out at the “morons,” “dictators,” and “horrible, horrible” people calling for his firing.
All this as another longtime star of the show with “Hospital” in its title, Steve Burton, recently tested positive for Covid-19 and says he contracted the virus at work, while another cast member, Nancy Lee Grahn, is calling on SAG-AFTRA to address the issue of working “on a set with unmasked, unvaccinated actors.”
The issue – and considerable anger – became public earlier this month when Grahn, who has played Alexis Davis on General Hospital since 1996, tweeted the alarm: “I work on a set with unmasked, unvaccinated actors, because my union thus far @sagaftra has allowed this. Full stop.” The August 12 tweet...

Another longtime cast member is saying goodbye to Days of Our Lives. Greg Vaughan, who has portrayed Eric Brady on the NBC daytime drama since 2012, announced he is leaving the show.
I’ve finished my reign at Days,” Vaughan told his former General Hospital co-stars Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson on their That’s Awesome! podcast on Wednesday.
Vaughan said he made the decision when Days “was going through a renewal negotiation and not knowing where they were going to go,” adding that he felt his time on the daytime drama “was coming to an end, anyway.”
However, he did not completely close the door to an eventual return. “… For all my Days fans that are listening, I love you all. It’s never over, so I’m not gonna say it’s over. I’m taking a break, if you will.”
Vaughan won a supporting actor Daytime Emmy award in 2018 for the role.

Greg Vaughan is the latest veteran cast member to exit the daytime sudser after eight years in the role of Eric.
The actor revealed his exit in a podcast on Wednesday.
“I’ve finished my reign at Days,” Vaughan says in the July 22 episode of That’s Awesome! With Steve and Bradford, which is co-hosted by Vaughan’s former General Hospital co-stars Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson.
Days of Our Lives is going through a lot of casting changes as it heads into its 56th season.
It was reported last year that the entire cast was released from their contracts in an apparent cost-cutting measure with renewal negotiations heating up.
