A hot new bombshell has entered the villa – and that villa is New York City’s meatpacking district.
Peacock hosted a “Love Island USA” pop-up event in the Big Apple to celebrate the launch of season four, which is available for viewing exclusively on the streaming platform. Without leaving the concrete jungle, guests of the July 21 and July 22 event were made to feel like a true islander amongst the sandy beaches, lounge seating, umbrellas and cabana staff offering refreshments and misters. It was just like being on the show – except no Pto requests were needed and there was no 100,000 prize up for grabs.
Just outside “the villa” doors, guests and passers-by were encouraged to pose for the ultimate photo opp in front a giant heart. “Love Island USA” Season 2 star Cely Vazquez and U.K. islander Kem Centinay tested it out during the press event (see below). Other “Love Island...

WWE’s “Raw Reunion” Monday night pinned down 3.093 million total viewers, an increase of 26% from last week’s regular ol’ “Raw” episode.
In terms of both total viewers and the key 18-49 demographic, last night’s “Raw” was actually the highest-rated episode since the April 16, 2018 Superstar Shakeup.
Yes, that means it did even better than the “Raw” after WrestleMania 35, which is a big performer annually and marks the start of World Wrestling Entertainment’s new “season.” Monday’s episode was 5% higher among adults 18-49 than that April 8, 2019 fallout show, and did 6% better overall.

The “Raw Reunion” did not keep pace with Jan. 22, 2018’s “Raw 25” episode, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of WWE’s flagship series on USA Network.

Just one week after Dr. Chris Amann lost the court case concerning his lawsuit against Cm Punk, more bad news might be coming for the WWE ringside physician. Deadspin came out with a shocking report last Thursday that indicated that Amann had a romantic relationship with former WWE superstar Jillian Hall. This was revealed in the court case and could cost Amann his job. Amann tried to have a number of items blocked from coming up in the trial, and some of them were accepted and sealed so the public couldn’t learn about them. However, Deadspin reported that one of them […]

Former WWE Diva Jillian Hall was arrested on Sunday April 10th due to a DUI. She was arrested in Orange County, Florida and is awaiting trial. Her blood alcohol level was higher than 0.20, although she pleaded not guilty when appearing in court on April 14th. She’s scheduled to return to court on May 14th.
You can see her police mugshot at the top of this post.
She has tweeted in the past twenty four hours, stating “Some things are better left unsaid. Respect people’s privacy. Not everything is your business!”
“If I go to jail tonight, promise you’ll pay my bail. They wanna buy my pride, that just ain’t up for sale.”… Sk, ” she added with a heart symbol.
This is her second arrest. She first fell foul of the law on April 23rd 2012, when she was arrested for battery, which stemmed from an incident with her husband.

There were heavy hearts for WWE fans heading into the 2006 Royal Rumble because of the death of beloved former WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero, who tragically died of a heart attack two months earlier.
Even though Eddie was no longer with us, his name was uttered endlessly in the build up to the match mostly because of his good friend Rey Mysterio was a favorite in the match. Eddie had a long feud with Rey in 2005, but after Eddie’s death WWE had no problem in saying that Rey was one of his closest friends. While everybody else was also mourning Eddie’s death, Rey was wearing “Eg” armbands in tribute to his fallen friend.
This was a period in WWE where they were in a bit of a funk. There aren’t too many Royal Rumble matches where the Rumble match isn’t on last, but this is one of them.

World Wrestling Entertainment is a company that prides itself on the moments it creates. It replays those moments ad nauseum in video packages, television specials and on its revolutionary streaming and on-demand network. Employees talk up those moments and their place in pro wrestling history. And rightfully so. From Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant’s face-to-face at WrestleMania III to Shawn Michaels’ boyhood dream coming true, the beginning of the Austin era at WrestleMania Xiv and the return of Brock Lesnar in 2012, they are moments in time that left fans excited, emotional and enthusiastic about the art form they love.
For every monumental moment, there are those that leave fans asking, “Wtf?!” From boogeymen to turkey suits, necrophiliacs to elderly pregnancies, WWE’s crack creative staff has been responsible for some of the most moronic, mind numbingly bad moments in professional wrestling’s centuries-long history. There should be no surprise that music plays a huge part in professional wrestling. From the minute a wrestler’s theme hits it sets a tone and gets the crowd excited before anyone even comes out of the curtain. So it’s only natural that music can often play a bigger part in a Superstar’s act often becoming the gimmick itself. A musical gimmick isn’t just strutting to the ring or getting pumped up on a rock song but one that uses music to define the character, such as rapping to the ring and incorporating dance steps during moves.
Some musical gimmicks can be used in a heel fashion, like Jillian Hall’s obnoxious singing or Jeff Jarrett as an arrogant moonlighting country music star. Most of the time, though, a musical gimmick carries a fan favorite comedic element to it, like Too Cool and Rikishi’s dancing shenanigans.

To say the WWE Divas have competed in some of the most unique-yet-absurd matches in company history would be an understatement of proportions so massive that Jillian Hall’s chest would be impressed. The women of World Wrestling Entertainment have competed wearing skimpy costumes, itsy bitsy bikinis and evening gowns while competing in swimming pools and giant bowls of gravy or eggnog. Paddles, pillows, bras and panties are key elements of the matches. The product of the brain surgeons working for WWE Creative, they became incredibly popular with the ever-important 18-35 male demographic.
On the June 23 episode of Monday Night Raw, fans briefly revisited the days when pudding wrestling ran wild as Stephanie McMahon, Vickie Guerrero, Alicia Fox, Layla and Rosa Mendes all wound up covered in the chocolate concoction. Despite living in a world where Raw is rated a family-friendly “TV-pg” and moms and kids are as...

A lot of people have been talking about Benjamin Morris’ 538 piece, “Are Pro Wrestlers Dying at an Unusual Rate?”
Like Morris, I am neither an actuarial scientist nor a demographer. So, our interpretations of the data should be taken with a grain of salt. My results were somewhat different from Morris’ due to a difference data set and changes in how we calculated actuarial predictions.
Differences in methodology from Morris
I also used Social Security Actuarial Life Tables, but my “expected mortality rates” for the age groups were not the same as Morris’. For each wrestler, I calculated what their age would have been as of today. Then, based on gender, I looked up the number of lives (out of 100,000) that were expected to still be alive and converted that to a percentage. His analysis looked at wrestlers who were on 20+ WWF PPVs through 2002. I went with a...

As some fans were already looking ahead to the seemingly inevitable possibility of The Undertaker facing the surely soon-to-be signed Sting at next year’s main event, the WWE apparently ignored the fan memo and pulled a switch on almost everyone’s expectations. Having allowed Lesnar to lose his last two main event slots, few could have expected that the WWE would push the Beast, under Paul Heyman’s management, into the most auspicious position in WrestleMania’s history.
Some of the stars of the event will be remembered for their greatness, or for their legacy, as Hulk Hogan, Mr T, ‘Taker himself and even Liberace will, but Brock Lesnar will now be committed to history forever as the man who ended the Undertaker’s unthinkable run of success at WrestleMania.
To say the crowd was left shocked is something of an understatement…

Over the the years the WWE Women’s and Divas Championships have seemed more like doorknobs than title belts: everybody gets a turn. Despite decent reign lengths for Divas (like Aj Lee, Kaitlyn, and Beth Phoenix) and multiple time winners (like Trish Stratus, Mickie James and Lita), if you’re a female on the roster for an extended period of time you usually wind up with gold.
WWE’s interest in the women’s division has always been up and down. The WWE Women’s Championship was integral in the Rock n’ Wrestling Connection but the title was soon deactivated. It was brought back in the early nineties only to fizzle out again after just a few years. In the late nineties it came back strong and lasted almost exactly a dozen years to the day. The Divas Title was created in 2008 for two purposes, one: to let...
