Paul Rudd has been tapped to narrate “Secrets of the Octopus,” the third installment of National Geographic’s “Secrets Of…” franchise. “Secrets of the Octopus” premieres on Earth Day, April 21, on Nat Geo, and then stream the next day on Hulu and Disney+. National Geographic explorer-at-large James Cameron is behind the three-part docu-series.
“It’s been an incredible journey learning about these mysterious creatures and their interconnected lives. I can’t imagine audiences won’t be as blown away with the secret lives of octopuses as I was working on this series,” Rudd said in a statement. “If you’re going to dive deep into natural history, you have to do it with National Geographic. I’m thrilled to be working with James Cameron and the Nat Geo team to deepen our connection with the ocean and all of its creatures and curiosities.”

John Caldon, founder of Flame Media (parent company of Australian TV distributor Flame Distribution), has died. He was 73.
Flame said that Caldon died of cancer on Tuesday. “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of inspirational John Caldon, chairman and CEO of Flame Media,” the company said in a statement.
Born in the U.K. and identifying as a Yorkshireman, Caldon emigrated to Australia in 1973. Since establishing Flame in 2010, he and his life and business partner Lyndey Milan, an award-winning Australian food/drink TV personality, split their time between the two countries.
Caldon was late to television and before that a long-time entrepreneur. Prior to founding Flame, he was a founder and deputy CEO of Macquarie Bank, a partner in Price Waterhouse, and chairman of Australian Rail Track Corporation.

Together with Netflix and the BBC, the Nine Network has co-commissioned three-part series Life In Colour, presented by Sir David Attenborough, an official Australian-uk co-production that will explore colour in nature.
Per the official synopsis: “Colour makes our world a beautiful place to live in, but there is so much more to it than beauty. As Sir David, the world’s most famous wildlife filmmaker, will illustrate, colour is the amazing way animals both communicate and collaborate – it’s even their language of life and death.”
According to Deadline, the series will be shot on new cameras built specifically for the show.
The series will be produced by Sydney’s SeaLight Films (a subsidiary of Sealight Pictures) and Humble Bee Films, from Bristol, UK. Production on the series has commenced, and Australian filming locations include Adelaide River; Sydney and Thredbo, and around Lizard Island and the Channel Country.

The pair will co-produce three-part series Life In Colour, in which Sir David Attenborough will explore how color plays a vital role in animal interactions using new cameras built specifically for the show.
The documentary is being lined up for a 2021 premiere, meaning Attenborough will be 95 by the time it is released. It is produced by Humble Bee Films, a Bristol-based production company, which recently made Attenborough And The Giant Elephant for BBC One. Screen Australia has released the final guidelines for its new suite of documentary programs, sparking a wave of criticism that little has changed since the draft guidelines were published in September.
Australian Directors Guild executive director Kingston Anderson said, "We are very disapointed. This is a missed opportunity."
Simon Nasht told If, "Documentary has been hit with a totally unjustifed cut of more than $2 million while feature film remains a protected species mired in failure."
