SAN SEBASTIAN -- Jaman, a new online film distribution company aimed at bringing international films to U.S. consumers, has inked its first product deals, buying non-exclusive broadband distribution rights to 30 films from Venevision International, Jaman senior vp Carlos Montalvo said. The deal, which includes eight Spanish titles and allows for an additional 50-film option, was part of the first batch of agreements announced by the Silicon Valley-based startup. Jaman also has acquired 50 feature films from Hong Kong-based Shah studio's Celestial Pictures and an additional 50 titles from the Cinequest Film Festival library as part of a 200-title package.
