AMC has ordered a pilot for a Kevin Smith talk show. The weekly show would adapt Smith’s podcast Hollywood Babble-On for TV which Smith describes as “Entertainment Tonight but filthy.”
Think you’ve seen Kit Harington naked thanks to that Game of Thrones scene in that rock pool? In a GQ profile, Harrington admits that scene featured a butt double. “I had a broken ankle… so the only time you saw my ass, it wasn’t my ass.” Instead a crew member with curly black hair and a great backside was asked to get a haircut to match Harrington and fill in.
The abs are definitely real, tho.
Get ready for another Joss Whedon alum to show up on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Amy Acker will appear as a woman with a key role in Agent Coulson‘s past, reports TV Guide.

Deadline says that ABC is close to ordering a series from Bryan Singer and The L-Word creator (which I believe is when AfterEllen readers and contributors tell us to run). The Black Box follows a successful neuroscientist who hides her mental illness from the world.
I was able to go with season two as the “Our judges were smoking crack
when they aufed Anthony Ryan” season, I don’t know what they can offer this season.
Buzzeed asks if there are enough worthwhile Project Runway designers to justify a third season of Project Runway All Stars. Since their answer includes suggestions like Vincent Libbretti and Angela Keeslar (but my all-time fave Diana Eng only gets an honorable mention), I’d say the answer is no.
Lifetime’s been having success in turning media-frenzy crimes into movies, so wny not take on a classic trial of the century? The channel...

Can an Office reunion with Bj Novak keep my fading interest in The Mindy Project from completely disappearing? (Vulture reports that he'll appear in two episodes.)
One of my favorite TV critics, NPR's Linda Holmes notes the high levels of violence in many of the critical favorites of the past several years.
Disney thinks ratings for Dancing with the Stars dropped this season because viewers tune in for trainwrecks and an All-Star season meant that the dancers were too good. All-Star or not, wasn't that the point of bringing back Bristol Palin and Kirstie Alley?
While officially, PBS says it trusts its audience to stick around and wait for new episodes of Downton Abbey when they air stateside, the broadcaster would like to shorten the wait time so that episodes can air soon after their UK debut.

The folks over at Make Magazine has done something really cool. This is a Star Trek communicator from the original series that lets you make or receive phone calls by pairing it with a cell phone via bluetooth. This awesome gadget is created by former Project Runway contestant Diana Eng, with help from Dave Clausen. Here Diana explains how the communicator works with an iPhone.

If you want to make your own, you will need this Star Trek toy communicator as the base, a bluetooth module and a microcontroller—then a bunch of tools and parts to finish the job. It's not something you can do without some level of expertise, however. Hacking, drilling and programming are involved. If you think you can do it, Diana has schematics and instructions over here.
If you can't manage that, well... The toy communicator makes sound effects.
